Helps Chelsea out and means we can see the back of Howard. The guy would destroy this league and it would probably only be us or West Ham who could afford his wages, would love a cheeky bid for him.

I don't think he would be prepared to play in the championship tbh, but you're right he would destroy this league. The guy is an absolute tank !

karl rudham Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 January is going to be an exciting prospect judging on how many good players there are presently being touted as being available on either permenant or loan deals, that is without those that would have to be prised away from their clubs at ridiculous transfer fees. Of those that are seeking moves in one way or the other we can look at the likes of Cox (WBA), Maynard (Bristol C), Sharp (Donny), Lukaku (Chelsea), one from this quartet would be great, but we all know the midfield needs a real overhaul, can we get the likes of Peter Whittingham, Andros Townsend (Loan), Jacob Butterfield, Robert Koren ? How about Niko Krankjar at Tottenham who has been told by Redknapp he can move on or am I being a bit ambitious. Defensivley I believe cover at left back and a back up keeper are needed as I believe Chris Weale may move in January. Nigel needs to decide on a settled centre half pairing in 2012, for me that's got to be Mills and Tunchev. The beauty is we all have our ideas on who we would like to see in the side, at the end of the day Nigel will probaly suprise all of us and bring in players we would never have predicted. He was quality a few years back and isnt getting a chance there. i reckon a bid of 1m would seal the deal!!! You dont get a big move to man united unless your a class act!! SIGN HIM UP PEARSON!!!

Man u pushed smith back into a defensive midfield position and i reckon given a bit of TLC he'd be a cracking target man. just my opinion thats all.

I really wouldnt be comfortable for us to sign anyone with an injury record like his. Newcastle brought him back last season to cover an injury and half an hour in he ****ed his ankle and was out for the rest of the season. Too much of a liability.

Had some disciplinary problems earlier on is his career but to my mind has never caused trouble off the pitch.

Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 I mentioned this on a thread on the Main forum, what about Alan Smith of Newcastle, he will add steel and experience to our midfield and a bit of drive and determination, I think we need this type of a player all these hot young things that people mention will just get sucked in to the bad atmosphere at the club at the moment. He would also be a leader on the pitch, more so than any other current player, I would also be tempted to make him captain, the main worry is he is injury prone (and possibly injured at the moment), but he is not getting a look in at Newcastle, he was linked with Leeds in the Summer but they couldn't afford him. I think we need a player with his attitude as much as we need a skilful exciting player.
