Keep Beckford

It's the midfield that is the problem, not Beckford.

If we got Maynard then he is equally the same as Beckford so that bullshit business, keep him and get wingers in to provide beckford the goals

This is like Torres at Chelsea, but at least Chelsea fans want to keep him n praise him all the time. I know a lot of Chelsea fans and go Stamford bridge with my cousin when Leicester are not playing ( 2,3 ) times a year and I've been twice this year already and Torres played woweful both times but Chelsea fans love the guy!!! Because they know he is a good player.

Why can't we do the same with Beckford and get behind him and chant him every time he gets the ball to gain his confidence, we all know he will bag eventually just like he did at Leeds :)

I agree. I want to give him a chance its the midfield and the lack of service

Agree completely, he's not the type of striker to create something out of nothing. give it too him on a plate and he will finish, as showed time and time again at Leeds. Creativity is our problem.

Yep, i think your your spot on.

I maintain his goalscoring recorddoesnt bear up to any kind of scrutiny above league one level.

The sad fact is that even if Pearson does want rid of him, he'll be on too high a wage for us to move him on unless we agree to pay some of it.

Abso-frigging-lutely. There is a reason that Beckford attracted so much interest when he was at Leeds and to be fair I dont think Everton ever wanted to sell him. As a striker you are only as good as the service you get and until we sort out mid-park Beckfords confidence will just dip & dip, and thats without the typical barracking you get as a Leicester player from your own fans. We need to get behind him, get service to him and then see how he does!

I think he needs a target man type player at the side of him. He played off of Becchio at Leeds United, so I still think we need a mobile target man at the side of him - for example, a player like Chris Wood. I do also agree that he needs more service from the central midfielders and the wingers.

I have faith in Beckford. When we signed him I wasn't as excited as most fans (his record at this level isn't that good, in fact I think he only has the two goals from his time at Leicester) but after meeting him before a game, and after reading about him in Andy King's interview in the Fox Fanzine, I really want him to do well. And I think with the correct service, and the correct strike partner, he can score the goals we require.

What's this? The Beckford love in?

lol

Again... His all round game is utter pants...

And what use is a striker who can only score goals when laid to them 'on a plate'?!

Every team needs strikers who can finish off lovely little slide rule passes AND who have the energy and the guile to turn something out of nothing..

Why did Donny win last Saturday? Because Sharp turned nothing into something... That was the only difference between two very poor football teams.

Beckford's goal tally IS NOT due only to the numbers of chances he's been given.. It's also due to the fact he has one of the worst first touches I've seen from a 'quality' striker.

Stop making excuses.. Open your eyes and actually think that we can now do better... Because we can...

Yes, the supply has not been great... Neither has Beckfords general play

It seems to me that Nigel prefers either one of Beckford or Nugent sadly they both cannot play together, so he is getting rid of Beckford and finding an ideal partner with Nugent. Waggy will be on the bench.

So Darren Bent is a bad striker then? because he mostly feeds off chances given to him 'on a plate'?

We do have a striker who has the energy, and that's nugent. Theres nothing wrong with having a poacher in your team either.

I think you may be spot on here Happy..

Nige has realised that this is a problem and wants to rectify it..

Good management IMO.

And if the decision was to keep one or the other I'd keep Nuge over Beckford every day of the week and twice on Sundays...

I would not be at all surprised if Pearson looks for a big target man to play alongside Nugent?

A younger, better version of Big Steve...

Wouldn't be surprised at all

I usually agree with your posts Enderby Fox but if you are suggesting Beckford is a 'poacher' you are miles off..

Poachers:

Bent, for sure

Fowler

Owen

Dickov

Cottee

To name but a mere few...

Jermaine Beckford has nowhere near the same amount of positional savvy, understanding of the game, first touch, awareness of fellow strikers as any of the aforementioned players.

Comparing him to Bent is like comparing an Austin Allegro to a Ford RS Turbo IMO...

lol

Beckford is not a poacher like you suggested.

Having seen him so far I really have no idea what sort of striker he actually is?

And neither does Pearson I don't think...

Let me guess, you hated Yakubu too?

I was not comparing him to Bent in terms of quality- more so in playing style, and if you saw his goals for Leeds you would understand why.

And as for the poacher comment, please watch this video and then tell me he isn't a poacher.

I cant see the vid cos Im on my phone..

What i would say is dont live in the past mate... Judge the player that you see now... Certain

players do ok at certain clubs but not at others.

And some players lose what they had over the years.

I'd like to talk about Beckford at Leicester City rather than at other clubs.. And I stand by what I've said about him here at Leicester. His all round game has been awful.

Is that you're argument as to why I don't think Beckfords been any good for us?

??...
