Lose weight. Used to be slim and quite toned, then I quit smoking a year ago almost In January and put on about 3 stone. I substituted the ciggys for crisps! lol

I'm not one for the "new me this year" as I don't really get or like it when people say that, but, on a personal level I don't want to make silly mistakes again! I made a lot of mistakes this year that I wish I could go back and change. I don't want to do anything like that again next year, and be in this same situation of wishing I could change it.

I want to lose some weight again but I know should really stop smoking. I know I won't be able to do both!

I'm going for weight.

Can't stand it when people say "new year, new me" or "not gonna take any shit this year" because it's a load of tripe.

My NYR is not to make one.

Bargain!

I found that exercising didn't help me lose weight much, mainly because it gives me an appetite.

I lose weight by simply dramatically cutting my calorie intake. Ie. smoking instead of eating!

I'm being cliche and might join the gym, although that's largely due to the fact I've discovered there's one near me for £19 a month. I quit the last one because I was paying £70 far too much. I can handle £19 a month (with no contract).

I've also decided to do proper food shopping. I've found, with a Tesco express on the way in between the tube and my flat, that I only shop on a need to eat basis. This has lead to me having an awful diet and not cooking. I use to cook a lot before.

Oh, and cycle to work regularly. That's largely due to my work starting the cycle to work scheme.

I will also be joining the gym when I move into my new place.

Less time on the net and more time working and shit.

Get to see a few more games if poss.

Probably join a sports club or two now I'm working Mon-Fri.

I have to pipe up here, The Gym Group in town (behind Next behind The Hihcross) is £16 per month, also free carparking in town after 5pm (£1 for 2.5hrs before 5). It's also open 24/7 but best of all it's where I work from!

If it's convenient to you it definitely worth a look, they might even drop the sign up fee in January - I don't know for sure though

Sadly it's about two hours out the way for me!

I don't really do New Year's resolutions - If I want to change then I'll do it, rather than go for the "New year, new me" shit.

I would however like to cut down on my drinking a slight bit and learn how to cook something other than bacon and curry.

Be a better husband to my wife, to carry on being a good person and try not to be pissed off with things i cant change. Oh and to be stronger and fitter than ever, which is bloody hard when im 16 stone plus

Almost exactly this, except my substitution was kit kat caramels and donuts. I started up at the gym in August though so my NYR is more to carry on with it than to start.

Also looking to make this year a good one at work, making every day count rather than letting the number of dead days build up.
