not long after a topic slagging off our manager and academy !! who wrote that shit ? well done to the youth , they are "part of the way" . eating humble pie are you ?

Who's come through the academy?

I think pearson playing both Moore and Kennedy would suggest that nigel wanted to see if they are capiable of playing at this level and are good enough back up if konchesky or peltier get injured.

This would suggest to me that pearson is looking to offload Pantsil, Ball and Berner and wanted to see if he needed to buy replacements. With both player's performance i cant see pearson requiring to buy another LB or RB

I Know it's been posted earlier but I'm sure he could give us an extra option in midfield. In fact hasn't he played there before ? Sounded like Liam Moore had a tidy debut too.

Played very well but he's no Konchesky.

I just find it sad that he is another player not given a chance by Sven. Sent out on loan, and not given a chance, but I am glad he has come in today and played well. Lets not get carried away though, as Tom will not be, and lets hope he keeps todays performance at a consistant level.

I expect he will play Saturday. The cup is a good chance to give Konchesky a rest to try to keep him as fresh as possible for the rest of the season. Hopefully he will do the same with a couple of others who have played more than most such as Peltier, Nugent etc.

Very good performance, but his performance is being overhyped to be honest. Strong back-up and will provide competition, but Konchesky should stay first choice LB without doubt.

what like:

Kasper

Moore - Mills - Bamba - Konch

Peltier - Danns - Abe - Kennedy

Sclupp/Beckford - Nugent

For me that's a positive! Konch is ok but he doesn't offer too much going forward and can get exposed by a pacey winger. I'm hoping Kennedy proves to be better at both and the only way to see if he is is to give him a run of games.

Spot on ! I Reckon that looks OK. Would probably keep Pelts at right back, but that looks a very mobile set up and Bamba wouldn't need to bomb forward !!

I always thought it was strange that young Tom wasn't given a go. When we signed him hadnt he been league 1 player of the season just prior?

And he's meant to have a sweet left foot?

2 words. Zsolt Lascko.

What? A regular starter at Sampdoria?

Seems to have really kicked on his career.

Tom kennedy played extremely well by the sounds of it and I think Liam Moore is also deserving of some credit also i think giving Bamba the freedom to go up and attack in mid will give both wingers and wide men someone to aim at and as it showed for the second goal when he's sneaking into the box we will grab quite a few goals i just hope Tom enjoyed it and still wants to be a Leicester player. If this was a "B" team (i don't like the term i find it disrespectful) the first team should

A) Be worried

B) Take notes

Didn't see the game or even listen to it on the radio, but was his performance that good, or did he just stand out because we have got used to watching under performers for the last 10 months?

He has been playing in a struggling team at Posh that try to play football and know they are underdogs and so have to raise their game every week, so it is that surprising that he was up for the game, when he has (probably) been up for every game this season and been playing consistently. It makes a mockery of this gelling time we have been using as excuses for our stars. The same can probably be said about Moore too, although by all accounts he wasn't playing all that much whilst on loan.

@Those who criticised Sven for not playing him, if he hadn't sent him out on loan this season and last he wouldn't have been as sharp as he was yesterday.

Interesting to see what Pearson goes for in the next league match.

I can't believe that we had so much trouble at left back last season, when Tom Kennedy was more assured than any of them! We can blame Svennis there!

Was he? Maybe he wasn't ready 18 months ago, and being out on loan has made him as a player, playing regularly in a team, not a collection of individuals has probably brough his game on a long way, you can thank Sven for that (I wasn't Sven's biggest fan but it is sad that people on here will use anything to beat him with).

On the other hand, maybe he WAS ready, and we can berate Sven for not having the balls to give him a go but always preferring someone from a Prem squad. Who know's how he might have helped to steady the defence during our awful period. At the end of the day, you'll never know if someone's ready unless you are prepared to give them a go.

Well it was Pearson who signed him and he said he wasn't signed as a first team player but with the long term view to replace Berner, it was Sousa who persisted with Berner and didn't give him a start. Sven replaced Berner with Cunningham (prem experience Irish U21) then PVA (prem experience and Dutch U21) and used Berner as back up, then signed Konchesky an experienced player with England caps and sent Kennedy out on loan. When needed he was match fit and had championship experience and was ready to take his opportunity which he did.

There are many things to criticise Sven for but sending out a young player on loan when he wasn't ready for the first team is not one of them.
