You are absolutely right. Three of the four fans who think Wellens is fantastic have been on this thread this morning, 'bless 'em'.

You ............you miserable little excuse for a Leicester Fan can do one !!

I thankyou !!!!

Wellens was superb against Barnsley, back to his best.

In my opinion anyone who says he was pony just has a downer on the bloke, whether it's at the detriment to the team or not.

Work that out

He and the rest of the team apart from kasper were awful. He's been poor all season but so have other players so wellens shouldnt be singled out. Wellens has definetly repaid the £1m we paid for him. Any fee we could get would be good he has had some awesome games for city but I think his time is up.

He's been an excellent servant to our club for a number of years, would be sad to see him go.

Just amazes me that some of our fans want to see the back of him. The guy is suffering from a common problem called "dip in form", a lot of professionals suffer from it and usually bounce back.

I would personally like to stand by a player who has done so much for the club as I know he will be back to his best! Give it time people... Wellens will be good again.

two and a half years i believe is his city career, and personally i dont think that is long enough to be classed as a servant to the club.

Steve walsh was a servant, muzzy Izzet, was a servant to the club. wellens will never be out on the pitch at half time, helping local charity's or writing in the mercury after two and a half years.

Wellens will just be a statistic. he has served his purpose, but he is in decline and its time he left, to extend his own career as much as anything. Pearson is rebuilding and wellens isnt a brick in that plan.

Cos he don't share your point of view.

Praps if you don't like alternative points of view you should do one.

Then you won't have to read others opinions.

Sorry, I meant Florest.

I agree he was poor against Barnsley.

Getting a bit snappy on here this morning, without any help from me I might add....... :P

It has been quite obvious for sometime that a fair few of our players (no names, for the moment) are simply not up to the standard of a team looking for promotion and it looks like NFP is slowly beginning to sort them out. Just how serious he is will become apparent in about 8 days time.

We need to average 2 points a game for the rest of the season if we are going to get in the playoffs, a seriously tall order and well beyond the capabilities of our current squad, so by tuesday week we will know whether NFP is going to go for it or not.

Irrespective of what is said, the scale of the rebuilding of the squad will tell the story...... :dunno:

I have written on a number of forums that I'm fed up with the Wellens bashing. His form has been poor of late, but he has had stand out games in the past. Certainly more stand out games than Danns and Abe and, in recent times, King, yet the latter three escape the abuse. RW is not the reason we are faltering this season, although he may be part of it.

Despite his poor form he still has the potential to be one of our most creative players. Without Abe, Fernandes, Johnson and, in the short to mid term, King we have no choice but to persist with him anyway. So we may as well give him our support.

Whether he is the player to take us forward I'm not so sure. His form may be indicative of a player in decline and we might need a more mobile and destructive midfielder to really make a difference.

It's just I believe that we should wait until we're sure we've got someone better before we should show RW the door and, with our current lack of depth, that isn't now.

I am going to waste my time explaining something to you that you will not have the cells required to be able to understand - however, here goes:- there is a fundamental difference in the ( now limited ) belief that 'when Wellens plays well, Leicester play well', compared to the actual truth ( which happens rarely ) Wellens only plays well when Leicester play well!

Get a friend to explain it to you!

I will say your previous post seemed rather patronising to people who obviously still support Wellens as a player (which I presume is what prompted the response).

And yes whilst you are entitled to your opinion there is no need to talk down to other members on the forum who do not share your views (which you've done again in this post).

This is a fair point but I fear more indicative of the modern day footballer than Wellens himself - can we think of anyone in the current squad that will be doing any of the above?

Depends how long King stays here for. He's about the only one I can picture doing anything.

I agree, players don't stay at clubs long enough these days to create an affinity with the club and their fans. Obviously with the odd exception but certainly not with anyone we have at the moment

Whilst I more or less agree with you, I feel it is just a little bit more complex than that......

Somehow ******* managed to con Sven into allowing him to play the 'quarterback' role sitting in front of our back 4, where he was, almost without exception, quite appalling. Even in those games where we played reasonably well and got the points he was still piss poor, it is these performances that a lot of people remember.

So the argument that ******* plays well when the team plays well is something of a myth.

On the 1 or 2 occasions he has played in more forward positions he has looked miles better, Forest being the obvious example. Whether he can maintain that form against decent opposition remains to be seen.

Just about the worst possible thing that can happen tonight is for ******* to play deep in the absurd belief that he is helping out our defence by doing so, if he plays and that happens, we are fooked.

So did the Daily Star by accident presume, that Wellens was off to Leeds I know they aren't the most reliable source of information but fair play to them for calling this before SKY.

Little more than, unreliable rumour started... Get's repeated more & more.... Reliable source picks up on it.... get's repeated even more, endless circle.

facts are, Johnson will never be fit, Fernandes wanted to play for a manager not the club & wanted to leave & has gone, Abe wanted to return home to the other side of the world to be with his family & has gone, King is injured... We are down to bare bones as Wellens, Danns & Drinkwater are our only fit CMs with Moussa & Oakley also unfit.

There is not a cat in hells chance of Wellens leaving without someone being brought in first.

He was utterly atrocious against Barnsley! What are you talking about?

Sorry, meant the two Forest games. Who on Saturday, gave Wet Spam a run for their money by all accounts, make of that what you will! The whole team was utterly atrocious against Barnsley by the way and haven't been up to much all season, so I don't know why they don't all seem to get 'good riddance' threads too. As we've seen in the not so distant past, if the rest of the team are up for it, he can be excellent.

He's might be a 'journeyman', but to me that just means he's been there and done it in this division, every team needs experience blended with youth and exuberance!
