St Ledger off transfer list

I have got a feeling that bamba will be off in the summer and Pearson is thinking about this in how he seems to be targeting getting defence sorted out in this window. As SSL can also play full back - and Pearson has a track record of using centre halves as full backs, this is excellent news.

Considering the reason for the bust up I can't imagine him coming off it if we're still after Morgan alternatively it perhaps tells us that Tunchev has played his last game for us.

Leicester City defender Sean St Ledger has been taken off the transfer list.

Manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed the Republic of Ireland international will not be leaving City during the transfer window.

St Ledger appeared to be on his way out of the King Power Stadium at the start of the month.

He was unhappy at being dropped for the Boxing Day game against Ipswich Town and Pearson slapped him on the transfer list over his reaction.

But St Ledger, who almost joined Ipswich Town, has been in sparkling form in the past two games and Pearson said there was no issue between the pair.

"He is fine and there is no rift," said Pearson.

"I am delighted with his performances. Is he off the transfer list? Yes, why not!"

City need defensive cover and are still waiting for a decision from Nottingham Forest over their latest bid for defender Wes Morgan.

City submitted a third bid of £800,000, rising to £1 million, for the 28-year-old on Thursday night.

The offer was discussed at a meeting at Forest yesterday afternoon.

A decision has been delayed, although it is expected Forest will reluctantly accept it after Morgan expressed his desire to speak with City about a move.

City have also reportedly made a £2 million bid to Hull City for defender James Chester. It is expected to be rejected.

City also have an offer on the table for Stoke City winger Ben Marshall.

Pearson confirmed he would like to make more additions to the squad before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

The City boss added that he may still offer free agent David Cotterill a deal.

The Welsh winger has been training with City since being released by Swansea City.

"He has not been with us the last couple of days but I have not ruled it out," said Pearson.

Meanwhile, City defender Cian Bolger has extended his loan with Bristol Rovers until the end of the season.

Good news!!

Personally I Dont think tunch is the same player he was....two acl injuries would finish any one !!!

Other than kids who are not ready we need another c.b , possibly Bamba could be off ?

Blackburn.

As seems strange us bidding for all these centre halfs???

Bamba will be moved on in my opinion.

Very good player but not a Pearson centre half.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Bamba could be gone within the next few days. His performances in the African Nations Cup have been pretty good - and with all these European Scouts watching, I reckon someone (probably a French club - haven't Paris St Germain been linked ?) could sign him before the end of the window.

Good news. I reckon him and Mills could form a very solid partnership. I hope Bamba stays, but whether he'd be prepared to warm the bench as cover is another matter.

Pleased lets hope he doesn't have anymore erratic outbursts.

It was hardly an erratic outburst. He needs to be playing with the Euro Championships around the corner so I don't blame him for wanting to leave if it meant finding first team football. He subsequently got his chance, impressed, and is now happy to stay. Fair enough.

Ways of going about it though isn't there? He obviously spoke out of turn when maybe getting his head down and training hard knowing full well that Sol was off to the AFCON in Jan was the better thing to do.

Good to see St Ledger staying, also the prospect of Morgan coming in is brilliant too! Can push Bamba in midfield instead of King or Wellens!

Or out of the club, which would be my prefered option.

I've seen both Ivory coast's games so far and I would not class Bamba's performances as good.

Shaky would be closer to it.

He's not looked anywhere near as good as he does for us.

If Bamba does go, £3-4m would be a nice tidy profit for a player bought for 250K. The funds could go towards getting that elusive winger or two.

I'm wondering whether we might be waiting to see if somebody does come in for bamba before we go for winger or striker targets to see what our funds are.

Best news of this transfer window in all honesty,

Rate St Ledger highly, yes he is prone to some bad passes, but even against Bristol when he did that back pass, he played very well in that game, brought the ball out defence, good heading ability and at least he picks out players.

He is far better than Mills in some aspects, he has had two bad games in my opinion, West Ham away where little Sam Baldock troubled him, and Darius Henderson at the King Power against Millwall, but the whole team were poor that day.

St Ledger has great ability, and he rightfully deserves to stay at this club.
