Happy Fox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Snodgrass or Stewart would be be a surprise, if we could get one of them today alongside Marshall that would be fantastic business.
cc_star Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Depending on how long the injuries to Schlupp and Waghorn are going to keep them out for, and if the Fonz is only here for another 3 weeks, then we still look light upfront. If Fonz has looked reasonable in training, surely we'll just extend if needed

Pearson is good business but i don't think it will happen i'm hoping Pearson gets a good set of players before today is out especially with all the people we are linked with
Ric Flair Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Snodgrass or Stewart would be be a surprise, if we could get one of them today alongside Marshall that would be fantastic business. You live in a constant state of fantasy.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Howard to Northampton just popped up on the BBC feed Pls be ture, back to your roots
Nicobonibus Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 i'd be happy if we signed matt richie.. but looks like he's going bournemouth
Danno Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 What a day to be ill and miss school I reckon we could be after some of Portsmouth's players, due to the financial difficulties and that
singinpete Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 If Pompeys accounts are frozen does it stop them doing any business ie selling players????
ibbosuk Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Saw article today where Moyes talks about bidding a max £5mill for Jelavic. A snip compared with what we are alleged to have offered in the Summer. Could we have a cheeky go for him? Doubt whether he'd be prepared to come to the Championship, though, and somehow a bid of this size, for an established star, doesn't seem to me to fit with Pearson's usual transfer policy. Trouble is Everton's bid has been excepted, so all we can do is bid the same and give him the choice of Everton or Leicester..... Think we have left it to late....He's the guy I have wanted down here..But it does not look like we are in for him...Unfortunately...
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Howard to Northampton just popped up on the BBC feed Damn cobblers say no thanks
jonlcfc1990 Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Looks like i'm handing my CV in for Portsmouth they'll need some players soon

We would have to pay more than Everton as apparently Rangers still owe Everton 1.5m from when they signed Michael Ball from them
MrSpaM Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 If Pompeys accounts are frozen does it stop them doing any business ie selling players???? I think it actually does! Surely if their bank account is frozen it means money IN and OUT
Corky Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 I love transfer deadline day. You see these poor reporters standing in the freezing cold for hours on end waiting for players to turn up and eventually get surrounded by lunatics getting far too excited about signings. I'm sure our lot are gathering at the KP to welcome Wes Morgan and dance around in front of cameras.

Rangers signed Michael Ball from Everton for £6.5 back in '01, Rangers still owe £1.5m of that which they can't afford to pay, so you'd have to assume that's why the fee seems cheap compared to what we were rumoured to be throwing around in the summer.............. but PL football Vs midtable Championship, no-brainer really.

ibbosuk Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 QPR, are getting 2 centre forwards in today, so Jay Bothroyd is obviously on his way out. (He looked shit in the Newcastle V QPR game though) ............................ Jay Bothroyd anybody ??

(He looked shit in the Newcastle V QPR game though) ............................ Jay Bothroyd anybody ?? Interesting deduction and it is a good point. I hated him at his old club... But then again i hated Beckford so if i can learn to love him i sure i wouldn't mind Jay i think he has ability but it depends how much work he needs confidence wise i always thought this transfer window was to buy people in their form at big £££ for a quick reward for the last lef of the season. Jay would be a summer interest i think when Howard retires
kingfox Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 We need players, just Morgan and Marshall would be very disappointing. Our wingers are shite, we only have three strikers one of which is only here for a month, and King, Abe and Fernandes have gone from midfield. We need better wingers, depth in central midfield and maybe even another striker. Shakespeare says we are hoping for numerous deals, so fingers crossed. And for the above post about QPR, it says they will look to ship players because the squad is too big.

Libertine Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Surely QPR will want 4 forwards? Zamora, Cisse, Helguson, Deej.

And for the above post about QPR, it says they will look to ship players because the squad is too big. No, we need players who can do the job better than those already here. Collecting players for the sake of it will be a mistake We have: Nugent Beckford Howard Fonz (who we can extend) Hopper who are fit & in matchday squad, we also have Schlupp & Waghorn on the road back to fitness & Vassell on the books too Signing a forward without one leaving is ridiculous In midfield we have Dyer - Wellens - Danns - Gally Drinkwater can play in the middle or right & Gally can play on the left and of course we've got Marshall who is two-footed and can play either side There is Oakley & Moussa in the background & whilst I think we could sign someone in the middle, we certainly need to look to get rid too This desire just to get bodies in without looking at what's available & how they need moving-on to avoid becoming a negative atmosphere building is what contributed to the disappointing season we're having.
