SOCCERROO FOX Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Could be fill your boots time. On a postive note I'm booking the flights to New Zealand this week for 2 test matches in Feb. :trumpet: May go to to one of the days of the 3rd test in Auckland as i'll be heading over for about 9 days for a boys trip and a Melbourne Victory game. Can still see the Saffas making over 400 here.
Knightonian Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 . Can still see the Saffas making over 400 here. I think you may be right. I'm a little worried about the prospect of not playing a geniune spinner.

Guest MattP Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 What you doing in Melbourne? Yeah will do always up for a bevie or 29 Got friends there so will nip in, live in Richmond, I'll shout you 29.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Richmond couldn't ask for a better place to stay, plenty of pubs and within walking distance of the MCG and Aami park.
Captain... Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 WICKET!!!!! Who needs Swann when we've got KP. I just want it to be competitive I'm heading up there tomorrow for the last 3 days, come on England, rip through the lower order.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Thank goodness the Olympics are happening and we can quietly shuffle the test cricket off to one side.
Captain... Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 SA all out for 419, better than last time, we now need to pile on the runs and not give our wickets away to win this one.

Captain... Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 9 extras already, they ended up with an astronomical number of extras in the first test too, 43 and 39, outscoring Bopara in both innings.
Corky Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Morkel could've been given wides several times more than he was.
Guest MattP Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Super stuff from KP this, giving Morkel a right going over.
Guest MattP Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Quite simply awesome today, Pietersen was absolutely sensational and it's a shame we didn't show that aggression in the first innings. Lets see it we can get a 150 lead and get them in tomorrow night, for the first time in the series the pressure is on South Africa, draw still most likely but only one side can really win it from here.

When on form there is no better player to watch. Taylor did well for his 34, supported Pietersen well and got some valuable experience.
Guest MattP Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 not really. It's ok, we can't lose the match from here, wanted more runs but important thing was we either scored quick or got out quick. See what we do now against a disjointed batting line up, Petersen cant bat until 7 and Smith and Kallis are both carrying knocks.
purpleronnie Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 I'm pleased we beat their total I didnt think we'd do it but there was a couple of missed opportunities, when they were 350-7 I thought we could get them all out for 375, if Pietersen stayed in this morning we may have got 500, thats a 150 run lead and a decent chance of a win. Now of course barring a complete collaspe by either team its going to be a draw, meaning we need to win the last to stay number 1 in the world.
Guest MattP Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Of course, would have loved a lead but would have been ever worse to build a 40 lead taking until tea which would have happened if Bresnan stays there. If we have to win the last we have to win the last, we had that task against Sri Lanka and the boys again showed what character they have and Colombo away is tougher than Lords at home.
