SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Also really hoping that NZ win this test, it's needed for the benefit of cricket in NZ and should make for an interesting 3rd test should i attend
Alexikokopops Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 If you fancy watching a Day in the Members i could get you a ticket Alex, it's normally only an extra $10 to watch it in the members. Also it's highly recommended to go across to the royal at some point during the days play to see a 'show' whilst at the G. Maastricht (that was meant to say maaaaate but the iPhone had other ideas), that would be awesome! I'm planning to fly back on Saturday 28th (haven't booked my flights yet) so was looking at 26th and 27th. Hit me on Facebook! The Royal - am I right in think this involves women and not much clothing...?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 You would be correct about the royal, seediest pub imaginable but worth a look. Not sure when the visitors tickets will go on sale, not for a while yet i'm guessing and how many they will release for days 1 and 2. But will message you prior and to see if ya still keen and will grab one for you. I'll most likely be going and can show u around the members and some of the memorabilia and the like......oh and have a beer or 12.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Melbourne Victory usually have a home game around day 2,3 or 4 of the test which is across the road from the 'G, so it would be recommended to do the double.

If it's on the 27th I'd be well up for it! I'm not sure when I'm going to get to Melbourne (I'll definitely be there by Boxing Day and I'll definitely be in Perth during the WACA test - in between is up in the air) but I'm going to try and get some football in both Melbourne and Perth.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Melbourne Derby has been 22nd and 23rd last 2 seasons as well.
Guest MattP Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Random question - when you went to the Ashes in Australia did you do it yourself or use the Barmy Army tour? I'm heading out there this Christmas for the WACA and MCG but doing it myself since I'm stopping in Malaysia to see a friend and I have relatives I can stay with in Perth who's sorting me out with some tickets there but I'm not sure how to go about the MCG. I'm assuming it's not too bad since it's HUGE but I'll only be there for days 1-3 (or 1-2, I can't remember) and would ideally like to go on Boxing Day! Did it completely independent. Got them off an Australian ticket tout then the one day I couldn't get I bought one off a Chinese guy for $100 outside.
Guest MattP Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Looking very very comfortable now. Draw for the taking, if they get it it should destroy them as well, probably won't get us all out again on the tour. 103/0 and crusing.
Vacamion Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Just watched the highlights (having avoided online updates of the score) and the shot of Compton's Dad when he got the 100 was great.
FoxyPV Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Listening to test match sofa, enjoying the commentary and the fact that Finn now believes he's a batsman.
marko Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Listening to test match sofa, enjoying the commentary and the fact that Finn now believes he's a batsman. He's played a few nice shots! Saying that, I reckon I could score a few runs on that pitch.
Corky Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Got away with our usual terrible start this time, need to recover and show our class.
I am Rod Hull Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Australia have dropped vice-captain Shane Watson and three players for the third Test in India for a breach of discipline. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/21740045 http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-australia-2013/content/current/story/624494.html
marko Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Hilarious stuff! According to Damien Martyn, Shane Watson has now left the tour.
marko Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Watson considering his Test future now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/21742293 Their batting line-up for the Ashes will be weak if they lose him; there'd be hardly any experience left in their team.
I am Rod Hull Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 It wont bother Watson, he`ll make his living in the IPL.
Corky Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Mitchell Johnson has been dropped. Question is, why was he picked in the first place?
Alexikokopops Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 If Trott scores another 21 without a 6 then he will have scored the most test runs without ever having scored a 6
marko Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 If Trott scores another 21 without a 6 then he will have scored the most test runs without ever having scored a 6 I'd be surprised if he ever hits a six. Plays beautifully across the ground.
Corky Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 West Indies needed 3 to win against Zimbabwe and they went for lunch Won it now.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 22 March 2013 Posted 22 March 2013 This looks to be heading for a draw already between NZ and England the pitch is lifeless. On a positive i'll be heading there the 3rd day most likely.
Corky Posted 22 March 2013 Posted 22 March 2013 They've prepared pitches for a 0-0. It'll be different when they are over here soon.
Alexikokopops Posted 22 March 2013 Posted 22 March 2013 They've prepared pitches for a 0-0. It'll be different when they are over here soon. Exactly. You'd argue it was a sensible decision by Cook given that drop in pitches tend to improve as games go on (if they have any moisture it's at the start). Plus it's hard to draw any kind of precedent given that the last test match at Eden Park was 7 years ago and even then the pitch was angled corner to corner (unlike the stupidly short boundaries you now get over the bowler's arm). Isn't MattP out there for this one? It's gonna be a thriller!

marko Posted 22 March 2013 Posted 22 March 2013 The Aussies should consider reversing their batting line-up.
