Test Cricket 2012

Some good bowlers in that squad there, should be able to take 20 wickets in a game. However the batting looks very weak, lot of left handers in there as well that Swann should be able to exploit, added to which there is a lot of inexperience of English conditions. All of that plus naming only 1 spinner should make us favourites. Don't think it'll be a vintage Ashes in terms of quality but I expect some tight games.

lol Rogers! Did someone turn the calendar back to April 1st and not tell me.

Rogers has been our best player in First class cricket in the last 2 years.

Easily our worst touring side that has been picked in my memory

I know he's scored a fair few runs in County Cricket, but lots of them came in the second division. I'm just not sure he's the answer to your problems, and like Matt P said, he didn't look up to much last time I saw him.

Not been great, my stream has just died and I'm not sure I can be bothered to find another one, might do some cleaning instead.

Thankfully, Test Match Sofa got me through the innings by taking absolute bollocks.

Today's performance in a nutshell

100th over: England 203-8 (Bairstow 25 Finn 0)

"We don't know how good or bad this score is yet until NZ have had a go," says Luciano Howard, citing one of the great Boycottian maxims. "Granted, we haven't batted well but there may be very good reason for that. Weather tomorrow will be similar to this, right? Then Jimmy should have a field day regardless of Bresnan's absence." Agreed. It's always a mistake to rush to judge how a Test is going. But equally, it's a rare situation in which the combination of a score of 200 off 100 overs combined with the loss of four wickets for nine runs in 16 balls can be described as anything other than utter bobbins

All out, most disappointing thing is that we had some good starts, 5 players made over 30 but nobody converted.

Got an afternoon of Anderson, Finn and Broad steaming in to look forward to, come on England.

All out for 232.

Sounded like a lovely catch from Southee to get Bairstow out.
