Craig Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 SAG's can piss off. As you said, they have a ridiculous amount of power; the SAG that overlooks Kettering Town have ordered them to play this weeks game behind closed doors as they can't afford to pay for a Police presence for a non-league match with a crowd likely to have been under 1000. Could be worse I guess.

Jim_NCFC Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Spoke to a guy from LCFC fanzone earlier today when I finished work. He confirmed that the people who are responsible for this are indeed the safety advisory group (as we now know). Apparently every club actually has a safety advisory group (I didn't know that). They actually have the power to overrule the FA if they deem it necessary (I doubt the FA bothered putting up much of a fight they were too busy f**king other things up instead). One thing that surprised me is that if a Safety Advisory Group feels it is necessary, they can stop football matches from going ahead in the first place! Word is that the Norwich Safety advisory group will review their policy after this game. However in this instance, it is too late for us. To be honest, this chap sounded just as surprised as we are about this. I asked whether our club contested this at all. He suggested that our silence on the matter spoke volumes. LCFC certainly didn't agree with it. Unfortunately though, we tried to do what we could, we were unable to get anywhere. On another note, if there is a replay fixture, it seems as though we will give Norwich the full 15% allocation if they request. Personally, I'm not surprised by that in the least. He suggested that while he's not saying anything about anyone else's football club, "we're going to run our football club properly". Basically, not sinking to their level and playing by the rules like we should do! I'm happy that the club is going to be professional enough to do this, though there certainly is a part of me that that wants us to give them just 1000 tickets as a real F**k You. But there you have it, screwed over in the name of 'Health and Safety'. I used to think quite highly of Norwich City but this is clearly just them being c*nts so that they can have more home fans in, it's disgraceful. Unless they really are crazy enough to believe that our fans are 'high risk'. I may be lucky enough to have a ticket for this match and will be completely behind a peaceful protest of some sort. We also need to get some decent chants for this too. By the way, there are approximately 700 tickets up for grabs tomorrow so get in there quick if you want to go!! Hi Another Norwich fan here. You are probably all sick of us but just wanted to respond to this post to say that whilst I think you are absolutely correct in targetting your ire at the SAG I think that the comments towards the end about our club are perhaps unfair. The fact is that as you have said above, the SAG have made this decision. The reports I have seen state that the football club attends SAG meetings and made representations on the matter but the actual membership of the SAG is made up of the police, fire and ambuland authorities, County Council and City Council. It is not a "Norwich City fc group" it is a group that makes safety/licencing decisions about events at our ground. This decision has therefore not been made by our club but arguably has been enforced upon them as I suspect it virtually impossible for a club to ignore a demand from the SAG. The local paper report actually says that the SAG listened to representations from the Club and from the Constabulary before agreeing with the Constabulary. This actually implies the club and the police did not agree and it might well have been that the club was in favour of the larger allocation. We probably would have made more money from it. I guess we will never know but think its important to separate the club from the SAG/police in this case. Most Norwich fans I speak to are a bit embarrassed by the whole thing. If roles were reversed we would be fuming and we can understand the anger. It makes us look a bit tinpot to be honest and I for one would rather have 4000 away fans there for the atmosphere. Its pathetic (but perhaps not surprising) that the police do not feel they can police what is really not that high risk a fixture (even with events a couple of years ago) but blame them not our club. Should be a cracking game anyway. I suspect both clubs were a bit underwhelmed by the draw initially but I still love the FA Cup and to be one game away from the quarter finals is a big deal for both teams.

accessory Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Appreciate your insights and delighted for you that your season has been better than anyone outside of Norwich would have imagined. As sports fans in Leicester, we understand where you are at. We just don't agree with it. As an example, our rugby team - The Tigers - has historically had this problem each year it has been successful in getting a home quater-final in the Heineken Cup. Until recent ground developments meant it can now accomodate 24,000, Heineken rules meant that they had to give away more seats for away fans than existed due to the enormous number of season ticket holders. And they did. The Chairman gave up his, too, and joined those displaced season-ticket holders in a glorified beer tent for one enormous cup tie I recall ... because the club has integrity and equal respect for other clubs' supporters. Enough said. The Tigers had the option of moving games to the Way and resolving those issues at a stroke. They chose not to, in order to appease the tinpot elements of their fan base. But they still ending up losing that cup tie (against Munster, I think).

1964FOX Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 What's wrong with being a pervert? Are there any more videos on the Norwich SAG chairman on line?
Vlad the Fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 And then he went back to watching porn till the sun had risen and his mother told him to go to work.
allotment-fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 was the Norwich chairman the same bloke who organised the sale of this years Olympic tickets if not it's a close run similarity and the outcome is the same p****d off supporters. So who's next don't let him off the hook total ticket scam hoodwinked the FA and they are so toothless they cant act
Matt Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 All the people hoping for a replay, don't get me wrong I understand why but at the same time it's likely to be a midweek match and I doubt they would fill 15% (4,875) of our ground anyway, infact I doubt they'd bring more than 2,000, so although i'm not going due to this pathetic situation I just hope we simply win, take pride in the win, and show them the two fingers, because going to a replay, being stubborn and giving them no more than 2,000 tickets wouldn't really be 'getting back at them', the only way to 'get back at them' with a replay is simple ban all their fans - which would NEVER happen. Although was brilliant when we banned Millwall fans in entirety many years ago - Pretty weird aswell.
Mission Unlikely Promotion Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 on the grounds of safety the Norwich fans should be banned from the KP if there is a replay, after all they have a history of actually causing trouble in our city, unlike us in theirs This
SaltyDog Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Although was brilliant when we banned Millwall fans in entirety many years ago - Pretty weird aswell. That was weird, If i remember right didn't Millwall score first after just a few minutes from kick off.. Claridge aswell? I remember the stadiums silence... it was errie!!!
Matt Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 That was weird, If i remember right didn't Millwall score first after just a few minutes from kick off.. Claridge aswell? I remember the stadiums silence... it was errie!!! Correct. However can't remember what the final score was - 4-1? I remember the chant of the game was 'Wisey what's the score? SaltyDog Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Correct. However can't remember what the final score was - 4-1? I remember the chant of the game was 'Wisey what's the score? Wisey Wisey what's the score?'
