Is it wrong to answer the door in a bathtowel?

Someone rang the doorbell earlier on whilst my little boy was asleep in his mum's arms (one of the few bits of peace we'd had for some time!) and I'd just got out of the bath. I went to answer the door in my bath towel and the missus insisted I didn't because it was "wrong". Is it? I didn't see a problem with it myself. It's a pretty big bath towel and it's not like I was going to do a Carry On like "Oops!" and drop the towel in front of our visitor. So she answered the door, still holding our son, and the cold air woke him up and made him cry, remaining in a bad mood for quite a while. It turned out to be someone trying to sell something anyway.

Can't help thinking that answering the door in a bath towel isn't THAT bad, is it? Do you disagree?

You should have ignored them, if it was important they'd ring again or come back unless of course you were expecting someone or something to be delivered.

As a postie I can tell you that there is one person that I regularly deliver to who comes to the door naked. He :( probably thinks you can't tell through the frost glass, but the pink strip in the pubes is a give away.

My Mrs was on a 3 way skype with her mam, dad and 2 sisters last week, so I took all my clothes off and walked past with a little pause... ;)

Sometimes, just sometimes, going commando is the right thing to do... :D

I remember answering the door in a towel a few years ago and it was CID!

They were a bit taken aback but so was I, because it was the rozzers.

When I was living in one of my student houses a couple of pigs let themselves in whilst I was home alone and in the shower! They banged on the bathroom door and made me come out and show them ID to prove I lived there! Apparently that is standard practice when they come across an unlocked house although why they were walking up and down the street trying front doors is beyond me.

I never answer the door or the landline. It's usually some selling something (err, we have shops for this sort of thing?) or worse still, someone I'm related to.

Of course it's not wrong .

Some of the best films I've ever watched have started with someone ( usually a comely young houselady person ) opening the door in a bathtowel to let in a Swedish looking tradesperson.

How can it be wrong ?

Only if you are hanging the bath towel over you erect penis ( that's arrestable)
