COME SOMEONE, PLEASE DO THIS!

Petition the club? You've obviously never had dealings with them have you. That is such an English way of trying to start something. Not that I disagree with the thrust of the original post.

If we wanted an atmoshpere at home games, we'd have it. Simple as. It's the FANS who should be doing something, not the club. Nothing to stop enough switched-on, like-minded lads getting together and just going nuts all game. The problem is we as a fanbase simply don't have that kind of following anymore. Nigh on all the songs we come up with nowadays are shite and all people ever want to do is bitch about whether the Kop or L1 is better FFS. Got news for you folks, they're both gash 90% of the time!

Actions speak louder than words. If you want atmoshpere, don't rely on someone else to start it off.

Ok The petition bit was a bit lame, but thanks to the few of you that have got the thrust of tmy argument.

The Fosse Boys had regular meetings with people high up in the club and agreed a charter with them signed by us and the club. There were some sticking points and on occasion we were not treated too well but the one single reason for failure was the lack of numbers. We peaked at about 50 and for that amount made a fair bit of noise. However there was not enough join us to get to the point where we could make a major difference to the atmosphere. Had the numbers reached a couple of hundred then we could have sustained it and grew but it's a lot of hard work and you need support from our fellow fans.

May be just one game everyone who moans about the atmosphere on this forum should stand together and go for it for 90 minutes to see if things could be done to improve the atmosphere.

I would have loved the Fosse Boys to have worked as the club were willing to make concessions but people need to make an effort and join any group organised in the future to make things happen.

The whole problem of k/l and the kop is that one can't hear the other. I sit in sk1 and can hear sk2 3 and 4 when they start singing but I can barely hear k and l but I can hear the drummer quite loud. What I've noticed is when k and l start singing the kop goes quite probably so they can pick up what k and l are singing and visa versa and to me this seems to be the root of the problem, the fact the 2 areas are too far apart. The fans in k and l might think they're loud but from where I sit they're not and like it or not are regularly out sung by the away fans. The powers that be are never going to switch the kop next to the away fans. My mate was a steward down there and he told me that when they designed the stadium they purposely put the away fans next to the family stand to try to erase any trouble. The away area is purposely designed to get fans out of the ground and straight onto buses and to avoid the home fans. The cells are also in this area as well as the safes so like it or not they are never going to switch the ground round to suit anyone. if the fans in k and l really want a collective home area they have no choice but to move to the other end of the east stand.

I know using terms like "dregs of society" isn't exactly PC and I mean no offence to anyone to whom it causes a sudden outburst of barely coherent anger, but i stand by what i said and if I may be so kind I would like to use you as an example.

You are clearly not that well educated (again, no offence, just judging by your total lack of ability regards spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax) and although you certainly can bet that you earn more than me and maybe you even do earn more than me, you're lower working class and will take that to your grave, no matter how much you earn.

In other words, you're just the type of person we need at the ground precisely because, like you say, you like a drink and a "sing song" ( lol, how quaint). I'm not having a pop at you people, I think you should be encouraged to get to the stadium and get all your little worries off your chest by cheering on the team.

It'll make the atmosphere so much better, even for those of us in the executive suites.

And the award for the most contradictory post of the millennium goes to Dave the crapman ! Well done. I have never seen such sanctimonious drivel since I inadvertently rested my tea cup on my wife's copy of a Jordan book. How old are you ? do you sit with your mum and dad in the family end ? Your not subtle enough to be a wind up merchant so I'm guessing your a Walter with no friends.

Only 50, but there are atleast 100 people on here who will do anything to improve the atmosphere, complain, start petitions (well ask someone else to start a petition), erm complain some more, cringe at other people trying to do something, complain a bit more.

If everyone on here that wanted a better atmosphere had supported the Fosse boys, then there would have been a lot more than 50, that is the problem, not the club, not the acoustics, not that separation of the singing factions, and it is perfectly summed up by the op, the problem is everyone else seems to expect someone else to start things, then when people do, Jobber, Fosse boys, the Poznan, they just get shit for it.

The ground will stop having a shit atmosphere when people stop complaining about it and actually just make an atmosphere, even if it is just 2 of you singing along to songs that nobody else understands.

Look at the Boro game, the atmosphere looked and sounded great, but you still have berks on here cringing because someone else sings it.

Pathetic, just like the atmosphere.

Though ironically an insult above the belt .

You should try it some time - tact and wit are an amazing thing.

So when exactly can we expect some tact and wit from yours truly ? putting a picture of a penis up is I presume in your world cutting edge satire . Mind you please feel free to now put up a picture of a vagina so we can all see what you look like.

I lived through those old days so lets not kid ourselves the atmosphere was always great, I remember as many times standing watching games where you could hear and see a pin drop as there were where the atmosphere was terrific. I also remember going with my kids when the atmosphere was fearsome due to the violence erupting when people thought a fun time was had by kicking the shit out of an oppo fan.

The truth is atmosphere improves as success is achieved and the more sustained the success the better the atmosphere. We've just been through 8 years or more of purgatory and continual failure apart from one instance of reaching the play-offs and in spite of many people enjoying it in the third tier had our lowest ever finish in 125 years.

Yes it could be better and will be if we can get some ongoing sustained success, it may not reach the dizzy heights of the 5-0 thrashing of Cambridge or the 3-3 draw with Arsenal but then neither has it sunk to the depths of the Pleat era despite our relegation to the third tier.

Sure there are things that could be done to improve the atmosphere, I've been a long time advocate of unreserved seating but ironically the more successful we could become the less likely this will happen.

This club along with most others have shown a distinct disinterest in adopting potential crowd improvement ideas they appear to prefer a crowd full of families probably because they'e the ones that are more likely to spend extra money on food and merchandise I really can't see that changing in spite of those kids eventually being driven away in their late teens early 20s by the same set up that got them there in the first place.

Anyway enough of this rambling I'm off to have some breakfast best of luck with your campaign.

Seems like success has done the trick.

Ok please bear with this.

I am an old git, remembering the times when European clubs copied English chants. When there was a real atmosphere to games.

Now those of you that goto games to just go to watch the football. FCUK off now, I'm not talking to you.

I'm talking to those of you that the whole thing matters, the build up, the expectation, the pint down the pub discussing the game, the walk to the ground (The fight with the opposing fans, OK OLD DAYS MAYBE, LETS DROP THAT FOR NOW)., the banter, the songs, the chants, THE GAME, THE RESULT. ALL OF IT. MOST OF ALL, YOU ARE A LEICESTER FAN, (look up the word fanatic - A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm )

Can someone younger than me, with more time and less responsibilities, PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE, petition the club to do something about the atmosphere. ???

Watch 'You Tube' clips of St Pauli, Galatasary, Boca Juniors. Wouldn't it be great to have a kop like that!!!!!????

Even if we had to vow to the authorities that there would be no crowd trouble, just fans together wanting to support their club and wanting to create and enjoy an atmosphere.

How about it? the thing you need is a section of the ground with unreserved seating (I know all you 'top fans' that have been on here for years, you are now going "oh no not this again"). But imagine the whole kop, as unreserved seating (ideally the family stand, but they will never go for that). Then the fans who want to make the choice of supporting their team in the way we all go on and on and on and on about on here can do it.

THIS IS NOT THE USUAL "Oh our atmosphere is crap" POST. THIS IS A REAL HEART FELT APPEAL TO SOMEONE TO GET ORGANISED, GO TO THE CLUB AND DO WHAT THE FOSSE BOYS TRIEDTO DO (god love them they sort of failed, not totally through their own fault) ON A REAL MASSIVE SCALE.

AN UNRESERVED SEATING SECTION IS THE ONLY WAY TO DO THIS. SOMEONE IN THE KNOW, PETITION THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND GET THIS CLUBS SUPPORT MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THE CHAIRMAN COULD WELL SUPPORT IT, MANY S.E. ASIAN COUNTRIOES HAVE FANS THAT ARE ORGANISED AND CO-ORDINATED.

I now await the various old hacks that will tear this to bits.

And how do you feel now?

This is a great post and still rings true today imo.

Young generations fault. I blame them. They all get too embarrassed, or are too busy pretending to be cool, to let themselves go. Scared, wimpy little kids who haven't got the bollox to rebel and who've never done anything to upset the applecart or change society apart from snapchat someone falling over and share it with one million friends on facefvck
