Can't say I liked any of these places. Don't bother.

hairy Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 I went to LA, Venice Beach and Honalulu, Hawaii. Venice Beach was great. Chilled and friendly but advised by the police not to go out at night. Honalulu was a shithole. That is all.

Honalulu is gash but when I went to Hawaii I stayed in Kai'Lua - a 3 mile deserted beach and nice little town Pure bliss

And my colleagues were in the same club as someone called Michael Jordan last night. I was asleep in my hotel room.

You'll get a sense of the true America, the one you don't see in all the glossy travel magazines and it's well worth the 3000 mile drive. Not only that, you get to see quite a few American landmarks along the way. Someone tell me what's better than watching the sunset and sunrise over the Grand Canyon the following morning at around 530am in total silence with no-one around for miles. All can be done following 66. There is so much more to the US than Vegas, NY, Orlando and McDonalds. States I've been: Massachussetts Maine New Hampshire Vermont Rhode Island Connecticut Illinois Missouri Oklahoma Kansas Texas New Mexico Colorado Arizona Nevada California There's loads to see and do. You just have to look outside the box that travel agents put the US in, hire a car and go drive and see it.

First time I have stayed in the same hotel as P Diddy anyway. Funnily enough reception / car valet drop off looks like a cross between a basketball game and a rap video. GOLD!
