Jon the Hat Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 I am there. Drinking Sam Adams. That is all. Oh and Orlando is full of people who think they are / want to be comic book heroes and have dressed up as such. Even the taxi driver thoughts there were freaks. And my hotel has ducks. Yes ducks.
Webbo Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Orlando is fantastic, I wish I could afford to go again. Universal studios theme park is unmissable.
Fox92 Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Yeah I've been twice to Orlando. Love it. I agree with Webbo about Universal Studios as well, although I love them all. Don't think I will ever be too old for all those theme parks. Really would love to live there in the future, and I also want to visit New York City. Last time we went to Orlando, we were checking in to come home and we got detained because my dad shares the same name as a murderer in America who had escaped at the time
Daggers Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Stayed in the Peabody in Memphis a couple of times, ducks are ace.
Bert Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Been twice. The Disney and Universal parks are fantastic. Seaworld was possibly my favourite park as well as the safari/theme park.
lavrentis Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Not relevant to Orlando but if you go down to Miami, never been but Stephen Fry likes it I think
Thracian Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Talking of America. my lad's left a set of golf clubs at his former girlfriend's in New Mexico. if anyone's passing that way!
Gav_LCFC Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Going orlando in 9 weeks can't wait been 3 times before. We drove past that hotel with the ducks. Bloody mental place america.
lcfcadam Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 If I'm honest that looks like my idea of hell. But each to their own, glad you're having a good time
Narborough_fox Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Miami really isn't very nice. Just concrete and a beach. Not a lot else.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 I did Camp America a few years back and ravelled after my Placement for a few weeks - onl really did the touristy stuff but went to: NYC - stayed in an apartment just off Times Square - great times!! Philadelphia - Ran up the Rocky steps with countless others Las Vegas - Didn't gamble much but my god what a city LA - was a bit if a disappointment but ran in Hollywood hills and did a fitness class in a park etc Hawaii - avoided Waikiki and went to a 3 mile long deserted beach in Kai'Lua and stayed with people who worked on LOST. Was amazing to see the locations! Also swam with sharks. Absolutely loved it - on my wish list for the future is Washington DC, Miami and Orlando (ie NASA). Along with Vegas again, Niagra Falls, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon etc
ajthefox Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Going to LA for 5 nights in June then driving down to Vegas in a Mustang to stay another 5 nights in the Bellagio, can't wait.
Jordan Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 I've never been to Orlando, never been to Disney or Universal. I guess I'm not very good at being American!
Emirati Fox Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Orlando is beautiful! Been there when a few years ago to Disney World and Universal studios and I gotta say that really wanna go again! ... I've also been to Miami, but I don't rate it highly as there wasn't much to do.
StanSP Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Been there twice. Loved both times but second time around was better. Mainly because of going to Grand Canyon, Hollywood and Las Vegas, where me and family met Bruce Willis
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 orlando is a shit hole That's unlike you to be a kill joy in a thread
Finnegan Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 That's unlike you to be a kill joy in a thread lol
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Bloody Orlando! Once was enough.Total crap yank shit hole!
z-layrex Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Orlando's horrible! The usa is a beautiful country but Orlando is certainly not a good representation of it.
Zingari Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 i once read that there is more unexplored land in the USA than there is in Africa ( i think it was in a Bill Bryson book) I found this hard to believe though .
Tielemans63 Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Only been to the US once, stayed in Virginia so probably didn't get a very accurate picture. Comfortably the least culturally rewarding trip I've ever been on - like a giant Fosse Park only hotter and with a slightly better selection of restaurants.
