It's not been done as an 'emergency loan' outside of the window before though has it?

Yes.

The loan window is open so it can be done.

It's irrelevant. You can negotiate for a player at any point in the season, nothing back-door has been done here.

We could, in theory, agree a deal for Player Y from League One side X now, should we wish to, surely. He just wouldn't literally transfer until the window re-opened at the end of the year.

That the loan window is open and his club have let him go in good faith prior to that is is an irrelevance.

Not for long, the emergency loan window is being done away with by UEFA.

Emergency loan window? or Loan window? Emergency loans can be made at any time outside the windows surely? Hence the word emergency.

I thought the "emergency loan window" Is more useful than the January transfer window in many respects. Well done to posh lets home we can keep him quiet when we go to London road :scarf:

Pretty sure emergency loans and free transfers have a registration window as well, something like March?

I may be taking Football Manager too literally here, so apologies if I'm a little off. But SI are usually pretty accurate with stuff like that.

I've never quite understood the difference between the loan window and 'emergency' loans anyway.

I know the league has to sanction these out-of-window deals but they seem to be fairly easy to get through.

To me, an 'emergency' would be 'we only have 10 players', not 'we're lacking depth at leftback'.

Which is why they are getting rid I think, it's not being used for what it was intended.

With Bournemouth signing their only other good player Crawley will unfortunately fold now,

Haha, weren't they dubbed the Man City of League 2 at the start of the season? Seems they can't keep hold of their players now!
