MarkHowieLCFC Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 He's doing in a couple of games what we've needed all season...experience of this league is essential, trees loss is our gain :-)
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Agree, adds stability. Mills is abit shaky, St Ledger is now playing well but isn't as physical and Bamba is too unpredictable. Morgan has been solid at this level for years.

MarkHowieLCFC Posted 23 February 2012 Author Posted 23 February 2012 Hope not jinxed it now tho! but so far it's been stability I've seen...and ledge alongside are looking comfortable too...
Tielemans63 Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 ....and he cost 5 times less than MM. Not saying Millsy is a bad player but there's not much between them which just shows what a crazy fee it was that we paid.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 he will turn out to be a bargain, i have always said it..
MarkHowieLCFC Posted 23 February 2012 Author Posted 23 February 2012 His fee ie MM wasn't his fault...if we'd got him for a mil-would of been ok...he's a good defender playing in a team where he's overpaid for his abilities!
RedHux Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Told you! But this is good, most reds would be pleased to hear he's doing well. You'll slag him off at times though, he can be a bit of a one for stupid fouls and not being exactly where he should be but on the whole. A damn fine centre back.

I'm not saying it is his fault mate. Just that we could have been more sensible with our money as NP has been with his acquisitions. I was delighted when we signed MM but even at the time I thought £4.5 mill was a bit steep.
Corky Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Looks good so far. Would like a different song for him though, we don't need the same for two players.
Tielemans63 Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 he can be a bit of a one for stupid fouls and not being exactly where he should be You mean like his 'challenge' on Nathan Tyson! Ps when did NT leave Foresy for Derby? I had no idea he was a Derby player!
Corky Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Can't beat a bit of barging a player over nowhere near the ball.

Still think MM is a good signing :-) rather him in our squad
MarkHowieLCFC Posted 23 February 2012 Author Posted 23 February 2012 Pearson knows the players he needs, this is one of the most unpredictable leagues in football...it takes the right characters
stix Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Still think MM is a good signing :-) rather him in our squad Rather him in our squad than who?
MarkHowieLCFC Posted 23 February 2012 Author Posted 23 February 2012 Rather him in our squad than who? Rather him in our squad than an opposing team!
RedHux Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 You mean like his 'challenge' on Nathan Tyson! Ps when did NT leave Foresy for Derby? I had no idea he was a Derby player! In the summer. His contract ran out and whilst he's shit off a shovel quick he's constantly injured and has the first touch of a kerb so the powers that be let him go. He's a frustrating player because once a year he'll single handedly tear a team a new arse-hole (it was derby last year) but then do little else all year.
cc_star Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Brilliant. Exactly what we've missed. Experience, organisation & despite plenty of Norwich players & Tyson being twice as fast as him, no one has yet beat him for pace his experience counts for a few yards & his strength is obvious. Also, since his introduction we mark-up much better something we've not done since NP left all that time ago. Morgan + SSL all the way...
Out Foxed Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 a lot of people on here were poo pooing this deal. inspired buy by nige
Ozwin Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 What an animal, if you're quicker than him you sure as hell aren't getting past him. He's massive!

Haydos Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 Look so solid in the middle of defence at the mo. I really hope NP doesn't feel guilty any time soon and try and squeeze Bamba back in there. Probably the two less-technically gifted CB's at the mo but you can't argue with the job that they're doing.
