Bob Weasel Fox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 I am looking forward to pre season the best time to be a City fan their is no pressure we usually have a great time new kit comes out, new players we sign, all the optimism, pundits think we are going to win the league. problem is with this next season talk is that unless we are running away with the league after 10 games the Thais will probably sack Pearson
Corky Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 iamafox, ive got an idea, go support a club that wins every week... Glad you're happy, some of us aren't though.
iamafox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 iamafox, ive got an idea, go support a club that wins every week... No club wins every week mate!

Don't think that will happen again this year....
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 problem is with this next season talk is that unless we are running away with the league after 10 games the Thais will probably sack Pearson This....
Happy Fox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 problem is with this next season talk is that unless we are running away with the league after 10 games the Thais will probably sack Pearson Yep your probably right looking at those financial figures it is absolutely imperative we go up next season and it has to be achieved automatically pressure is most certainly on sounds gloomy and depressing but it is a reality we find ourselves in.
svensson Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 iamafox, my point exactly, therefore stop moaning...and im by no means your mate Corky, not happy at all, but i dont let my emotions run away from me unlike a load of folk on here. I have to put up with these morons at a game, moaning that we arent attacking when we are 2-0 up comfortable in possession and seeing the game out.
caz05 Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 We were pre-season favourites for promotion and we've lost to inferior teams like Doncaster, Millwall, Watford, Barnsley and Bristol City, the latter have just done the double over us and they were favourites for releagtion! I am not going to persistently put up with this bullshit, it is just totally UNACCEPTABLE! I think they also did the double over the saints though so just shows what a funny league it is cause there near the top
Foxhateram Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 I blame the fans, there wasn't enough of us there tonight! We weren't loud enough! oooooooohhhhh there's a scapegoat we haven't mentioned yet. only jesting. Was predictable tonight, we have struggled against physical sides like this all season. We will win at Reading though.
Happy Fox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Biggest issue for me, and one that concerns me for next season. Its always has been our Achilles heel, unless the players mentality changes we change the players and I pretty sure NP said that, whether those actions take place or not remains to be seen.
marbelladave Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 So predictable, but it had worked in 7 out of the last 10 games.. yeah you know your football alright.... Fair comment to a degree but the 3 games we have lost in that run were just like tonight, ie we should have won but we contrived to fook it up. Anyway out of those 10 games, 2 were in the cup, 2 were local derbys and 2 were against good sides so we were up for them and did well. Against Brighton, Watford and Bristol tonight we were not..... So yes, we are are predictable, in the way we play not necessarily in our results......
Corky Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Its always has been our Achilles heel, unless the players mentality changes we change the players and I pretty sure NP said that, whether those actions take place or not remains to be seen. Not always, we managed to beat sides towards the bottom last season. It was our form against the top six which held us back. Now it's the reverse.
iamafox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 I think they also did the double over the saints though so just shows what a funny league it is cause there near the top Yes but the difference is that Southampton have been more consistent than us, spent less money than us, have a better nucleus of the squad than we have, and they've lost less games than us, particularly against teams in the bottom half. (like Bristol City)
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Not always, we managed to beat sides towards the bottom last season. It was our form against the top six which held us back. Now it's the reverse. Very true...
Happy Fox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Not always, we managed to beat sides towards the bottom last season. It was our form against the top six which held us back. Now it's the reverse. But still it is the same problem but as you say it is the reverse, maybe a combination of Sven and NP would do the trick.
marbelladave Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Not always, we managed to beat sides towards the bottom last season. It was our form against the top six which held us back. Now it's the reverse. That was then, this is now. Last season we played pretty much to our potential, we might have made the playoffs but the loss of form of key players and Sven's loan gamble not quite paying off meant that we didn't. This years form suggests that they can be good enough, but mostly can't be arsed.....

We couldnt be any less predictable, we vary the way we play throughout a game, yeas sometimes we go long from Kaspers kicks, yes sometimes we go long due to pressure from their strikers, we don't often choose to go long. Our back four always look to get it down and play, as for being over run in midfeild that hasn't happend since Danns and Wellens have been our central pairing.. the radio is just not the same...

We are totally predictable, same formation, same slow buildup against teams who sit back, same frustration leading to the hoof, giving the ball away for the opposition to run back at us. Puts the defence under a lot of pressure and they get precious little help from the midfield. No one covers our fullbacks who are asked to go forward so we get attacked down the flanks, center back comes across to cover leaving us short in the box. Neither Danns nor Wellens are much use defensively around our box so they give the opposition space to play in pront of our back four should the opposition choose to come down the middle. The only time we really play differently are those occasions when our midfield and forwards press high up the pitch, that requires both discipline and energy and, as I said elsewhere, they mostly cant be arsed.....

As I thought, you haven't attended many games... your statement is factually incorrect. sick and tired of fans not backing the team they apparantly love...
Kitchandro Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Have you been to a game recently??? We couldnt be any less predictable, we vary the way we play throughout a game, yeas sometimes we go long from Kaspers kicks, yes sometimes we go long due to pressure from their strikers, we don't often choose to go long. Our back four always look to get it down and play, as for being over run in midfeild that hasn't happend since Danns and Wellens have been our central pairing.. the radio is just not the same... You should know you're wrong when you write a comment, read it back and it makes us sound good. We're an average team who play slow, boring football and create few chances. We are very predictable because we can't ever go up a gear. We'll play it short for a bit, realise we aren't good enough to break them down because our players don't skin anyone or earn a few yards of space for themselves in an advanced position. So then we give up, play a lacklustre ball back to the defenders who are now under pressure, and they have no option but to hopefull punt it upfield in the blind hope that Beckford will win a header. If we play a shit side like Coventry maybe Dyer will skin someone and that gives us a chance. Sometimes Nugent will make something out of nothing and we'll get a chance. And sometimes their defence will just let us walk through because they are even shitter than ours. But most of the time the above is what happens.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Just got back. C**T ROADWORKS on the M4 eastbound. Then they didn't signpost the diversion properly. I ended up driving on several country roads before I eventually got back. Very disappointing. Not much to say right now. Got work at 6am but Bristol were worth their win. They wanted it far more. They closed us down all over the pitch and got men behind the ball. That, combined with F**KING SH*T DEFENDING has really let us down tonight. I can't believe (though I should know better) how when we went in front (especially the 2nd time), not only did we just sit back, but we seemed to COMPLETELY switch off! There was no pressing no urgency at that point nothing. It was awful to watch. And all this about Ashton Gate being great for away fans. We weren't great today. It had a similar feel to Watford. Overall, same old Leicester. But fair play to Bristol City. They deserved it more than us.
Guy Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Not read any of the post match posts/threads as yet but all I can say, having seen the 3-2 defeat at Ashton Gate scoreline, is that doesn't this kind of result (and at this stage) say everything about our season to date? Having finally put the "no back to back wins ghost" to bed at the weekend against Cov., we go and lose YET ANOTHER game away to a poor team who we should be dead certs to beat.....with the 3-2 scoreline bearing all the hallmarks of Watford away last month!. While it's not over until the fat lady sings there appears to be little left for us to play for this season. Chelsea away in the FA Cup last eight - have we got a prayer?? Perhaps an easier task is 9 wins from 12 to scrape into the play offs! It wasn't impossible under MON in 1996 for us to reach the play offs in a similar way back then (and go on to win at Wembley of course), having looked hopelessly adrift at the end of March but to coin a cliche, "that was then, this is now"!! Never a dull moment. If we beat Reading on Saturday though then I'm seriously considering eating my hat - and a few other inanimate objects!!
Ultra Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 We won't win at Reading - or Chelsea. This is a team without leadership. Until we find some, we will remain mediocre.
