Daggers Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Lets be realistic..who was actually complaining when Sven signed the players he did? Me.
Steve Agnew Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Even so, no chance it was that low. They paid 4m. apologies this suggests it was 450k http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/128045-Price-Tags
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Lets just have a look at Svens permanent sigings one by one: Bamba £250k - Top value in my opinion, we were offered £2million from Blackburn Vassell Free, Can't beat a freebie, and excellent performer Ricardo- Free. Big mistake and cost us lots of goals, even if not lots of money. Lee Peltier £750k - Good value, could sell him for the same Kasper Schmeichel £1.25 Million - excellent value, could get £5million for him Neil Danns Free - Can't beat a freebie Sean St. Ledger £1.25 million - Good value, Rep Ireland international - easily get the same back David Nugent Free - Can't beat a freebie, especially one on course for 20 goals! Matt Mills Reading £3.5 miillion - Price tag pressure has killed his performances, the big shocker of all transfers Paul Konchesky 250k - Good value for money, consistant performer John Pantsil Free - yet to prove himself, big wages, so some question marks Michael Ball Free - Mistake, but a very cheap one. Jermaine Beckford Everton £2.5 million - starting to show his value, yet to be fully convinced The ego's could be Beckford and Mills, but we have no solid evidence to show either. Other than that I see no prima donna in the signings. Of the 13 I see, 7 a great success, 2 arguably successful (beckford and Peltier), one yet to be proven, and only 3/13 are mistakes. Two being free and not costly, and the other being matt mills??? People forget that these signings have capital resale value, and they are not all mistakes. I think if we sold them all on, we would at least break even, probably make a profit, Lets not get carried away with ' clearing up the mess' rhetoric, or we will all begin to sound like a hollow members of the coalition government, churning out the party line. Excellent post.

Why are people still complaining about Sven's sacking? It's happened, they need to get over it, if they can do that then maybe they can finally start supporting the CURRENT Leicester team!

It's happened, they need to get over it, if they can do that then maybe they can finally start supporting the CURRENT Leicester team! This was off the Leicester city fc fan page, supposedly for true fans, from what I've seen so far the admins and majority of the members are anything but true fans constantly slating the team, calling for Pearson's head and bigging up their beloved Swede.

This whole Sven thing is, and always has been, verging on the eerie. He's been gone for ages now.. Get over him for fooks sake...

lcfcbaby Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Too right... This whole Sven thing is, and always has been, verging on the eerie. He's been gone for ages now.. Get over him for fooks sake... Exactly. We spend way too much time looking back at what could have been, or what should or shouldn't happen and too much time predicting how much longer Pearson will last! We need to focus on what's going on at the moment I.E. the FA Cup and the league.

LcFc_Smiv Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Michael Johnson was not "class" or "sick" Obviously the guy thought so from the time he's spent on the bench and physio's table. Some fans amaze me!

Excellent post. Excellent post. Excellent post. Excellent post. Agree with all - problem now is that all the big earners not in Pearson's 'clicky 11' will be cleared out in the Summer - owners have no choice but to get the wage bill down with the new rules and I think Pearson has his instructions to get rid. The Sven plan didn't work, and now we have 'my way or no way' Pearson. We're now back to being an average Championship side with an average Pearson first team with multi-million pound bench warmers and huge debts (owners 'loan' to club). As noble as it seems to some, I think Pearson just doesn't fancy foreign players in his line up, favouring instead his old charges. If Mills earns the reputed £25k a week he's higher paid than his manager - not usual in this division and there lies another problem with Pearson's ego. Surely he should use all the resources he has to get out of this division short-term or not - they're all being paid to win games. But then the arrogance of the man shines through in every interview. If Pearson thinks he can make a silk purse from his weekly sow's ear eleven then I think he's deluded! Leicester were famous under Sven for a short time and were a club with a 'buzz'. The owners have money and are ambitious to build the King Power/LCFC brand internationally. We disappeared off the map when Sven was sacked and Leicester need another (higher profile) manager in place for next season - there's a few around just now and the million pound salary (+£1m promotion bonus) should be enough to find one?!

Fox1651 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 im sitting on the fence about this at the moment, but obviously there has to be big improvements and quite quickly really, if we dont sprint out of the blocks early next season i dont think Pearson will last long
pablos111 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Because Sven brought in a load of overpaid pre-madonna's. Upset the camp by giving the new signings big contracts, then realised he had forked up and offered players like King etc higher wages to compensate, He even gave Oakley a pay rise ffs, he hasn't even featured for us this season! This all led to bad squad morale, adding to this he constantly insisted on chopping and changing effectively destroying players morale . He had lost the changing room, there was a clear division in the team. It was time for him to go. Since Pearson has arrived we have atleast looked like a team. Bad result agreed last night, but at least we played as a team and battled right up till the end! We got caught pushing for the winner. These things happen. Under Sven we lost our way, he had no plan B and the squad looked like it couldn't be arsed. He left a mess which Pearson has done a god job to clear up, Sven left a squad, Pearson has made a TEAM. enough said! Since pearson arrived we have at least looked like a team, get real!!! ...this game is about winning, you get nothing for losing mate. We should have kept Sven look where we were when he was sacked we could well have been looking forward to a definate play off place now.I really think NP's days are now numbered because the owners cannot afford to keep hanging on, they have invested to much of their hard earned cash together with the latest loss's the club has made £24 million was it? They will be getting very agitated I think. NP is not the manager he was last time round i'm afraid, no renewal of my season ticket this time round.

Hard work is not enough to win games if the quality isn't there - from Management through to players.
pablos111 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 the "sven plan" didnt have a chance to work Here, here. Well said
FrankieADZ Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 I think so atm, I'd rather have stability at Leicester than be seeing chopping and changing every couple of months.
Corky Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 I'd rather see us above mid-table. We, realisically, have one more important game to play. From March onwards.

Steve Agnew Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Pearson needs to do more to convince the owners. Otherwise he will be walking away with £2 million in his back burner, for 6 months work. Pearson is realistic, he knew he'd either be a success, or quickly earn more money in 6 months than he has done in most of his career as a player and a manager!
Cropwellfox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 I'd rather see us above mid-table. We, realisically, have one more important game to play. From March onwards. Just a complete joke from top to bottom. It's not about today, it's about drawing against posh, Ipswich and Barnsley. It's about losing at home to Barnsley , and shipping 3 at Watford and Bristol city. Pearson has done nothing this time round to give any confidence he can lead us up. Pack it in.
