lcfcsnow Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 John Percy @John__Percy Matt Oakley is leaving #lcfc after contract cancelled by mutual consent. Will certainly be a decent free transfer for somebody Hopefully Howard to follow soon.

jonlcfc1990 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Not a shock... Thank you Matt for the goal against Forest and all of your service to our club
Kitchandro Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 About time tbf. One of our best players in the league 1 season so thanks to him for that.
Happy Fox Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 The Sheepshaggers will probably take him, cannot say I am too fussed hopefully Howard follows suit.
peterborofox Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Good luck to him. Howard wont be leaving at least till the summer otherwsie he wouldnt be on the bench all the time.
blueharmie Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 yeah was great in league one helping us up. nice chap aswell. good luck.
davieG Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 His contract was up in a couple of months anyway, it just means he doesn't need to turn up for training now.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 granted its time for him to move on but lets not forget what a good contribution this fella has made. Captained us to the title in League 1, playing consistently well either in the centre of midfield or on the right then a decent season in the Championship the year after. A good professional and good luck to him
bluesbrothers Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Thank you for your service Matt. Still think he was criminally under-rated last season, put in plenty of steady games towards the tail end, then all of a sudden people rated him again when he scored two good goals against Palace and Forest. Fickle b*stards. Good luck at wherever you end up, because I reckon you can still do a job anywhere lower-championship and below.

MrSpaM Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 All the best Matt, thanks for all your help during our promotion season!
Raw Dykes Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Moussa has gone out on loan to Chesterfield http://www.lcfc.com/...2662100,00.html Great. Now we have exactly two available central midfielders for Sunday. In the summer, who would have guessed this could happen this season? Abe, Fernandes, Johnson, Moussa, Oakley all gone, Drinkwater cup-tied and King out injured. I know Bamba has played in midfield, but doesn't like to. Have we got anyone else who can play this position?

Guest Col city fan Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Cheers Matt... Good player and captain for the club.

whoareyaaa Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Fair play to him think it was about time to move on though. Good luck for the future.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Thanks for all you've done Matt. You've been a good servant to our club over the years and probably got much more stick than deserved. Remember when we played Sheffield United at Bramall Lane? He on from the bench and put in a stellar performance. He cleared a shot off the line towards the end and basically ensured we won that game against a fighting Sheffield United side, then people were still scapegoating him and calling him 'fooking sh*te'. You just can't win sometimes.
davieG Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Considering his pedigree and how pleased I was to see him come to LCFC he was a big disappointment never really stamping his name on games, rightly or wrongly I expected more from him. I don't wish him any ill feelings he was paid well but didn't deliver for me.
gazfox9 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Also part of our worst side in history too. Goodbye Matt.
Leicfox Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 137 appearances, So I thank him for that. Best playing in the middlle, especially his partnership with Mark Davis, but as it is with Leicester we then start to play him on the right side with little reward. All the best Matt.
