ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 25 March 2012 Posted 25 March 2012 Just wanted to know your opinions on these fellas? I hope we go for one or both in the summer, both look like they'll be top quality players, and possibly Pearson-like players
Libertine Dream Posted 25 March 2012 Posted 25 March 2012 I like Butterfield but honestly prefer Danns and Drinkwater however if we want a player to permanently play Marshall's roll yesterday then Nick Powell definitely fita the bill. He is a replica version of Sigurdsson, finds space, scores goals, links up play and even the same in stature
dave_the_fox Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 Well Butterfield was off to Everton before his injury so he might be premiership bound. However, with this injury he may have to endure another season in the championship - i would take him!

seenitall Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 Wish we had him, he was always dangerous when he played against us for Reading. .....like Mills was!!!
iamafox Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 .....like Mills was!!! Any Reading player would always be dangerous against us, as they are our bogey team!
Libertine Dream Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 Wish we had him, he was always dangerous when he played against us for Reading. Apparently going to cost Swansea 8 million at least
Out Foxed Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 i was watching the arabs/hibs highlights and that gary mackay-steven (creator of the gazgetaway) ran the show. he's just signed a new contract but he looks like he could be a good buy, the creative midfielder we're crying out for. that we could hopefully obtain at a decent price.
Jaspa Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 To me, the future of our midfield is already here. -------- Drinky -- Danns --------------- King Balanced, hard working midfield.
Bugg Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 Nick Powell will be going to a Premier League club, honestly don't think we have a chance, he is a class act.
deep blue Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 Nick Powell will be going to a Premier League club, honestly don't think we have a chance, he is a class act. From the few Crewe highlights I've seen, he looks sensational, and only 17. But yes, reportedly Prem scouts are already sniffing, so I guess we'd only have a chance if he saw a much earlier likelihood of 1st team action with us.
FrankieADZ Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 i suspect move will move to the premiership next season, both very talented players & young enough to take a chance on imo. I reckon Butterfield will goto a middle/lower premier club..or even one that goes up & Powell I could easily see him going to a bigger team; was reported Chelsea was going to spend £5million to get him. So if Im honest I'd like to see them come here, but I cant really see it happening.
blue army 1988 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 I'd have Chris Powell back anyday of the week

Perhap`s you wanna add bamba as a defensive mid? or marshall in there! we have to work on getting a good balance and pearson know`s this a lot of work to do in the summer, but drinkwater is going to be one of out most influential player`s
foxesfan1989 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 I'd have Chris Powell back anyday of the week I hope he manages this club one day
Libertine Dream Posted 9 April 2012 Posted 9 April 2012 Leicester scouts were there watching Powell today I really hope so but I saw that Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool are all interested in the guy which would mean we'd have no chance. Be a shame after seeing what happened to Bostock but likewise I dont want us to just be a stepping stone.
Happy Fox Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Leicester scouts were there watching Powell today Nice to know that we were looking at him, their is a couple of their youngsters such as Max Clayton, Luke Murphy etc that we should look at as well. I have also heard that their were Leicester scouts present at the Norwich v Everton match on Saturday.
Bugg Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Max Clayton is ok, but Luke Murphy isn't really that good.
Syko Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 I highly doubt Powell will be going Leicester I know his brother and from what he has said, Crewe are only going to be selling him to a top 4 club, Arsenal/Spurs are Powell's choice apparently. They turned down a bid of over £1 Million from Ipswich in January. Also its expected that a club will buy him and instantly loan him back
Narborough_fox Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Nick Powell is an immense talent, would love him here! Definitely a Pearson sort of signing.
AKCJ Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 I'm guessing this is Jacob Butterfield? If so then yes please. A younger Wellens IMO.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 How do u know that we had scouts watching Powell would love us to move for both of these, would give us a real cutting edge!! Also does anyone know what price both of these clubs would recommend for them!?
flowwolf Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 To me, the future of our midfield is already here. -------- Drinky -- Danns --------------- King Balanced, hard working midfield. That's not the future that's the past ?
