Are the ticket prices reasonable for a club our size / in the championship?

The mistake most people make is the place they sit with regards to price.

My seat tonight, one I selected online, is the last one on the row at the very top of the west stand in one of the "Cheap" corners, it cost me £16. The man sitting next to me, like literally inches away, spent £30 on his ticket as it is classed as the Middle part of the west stand.

The view is perfect anywhere in our stadium, people just need to get to know these little things before overspending on tickets, its been made much easier by the fact you can hand pick your seats online now.

I'd say we're not too bad, one of the better of a very, very bad bunch, if you like.

I think comparing our prices to Leeds, Ipswich, Doncaster etc.... we're pretty good. Compared to Borussia Dortmund and pretty much every other German club, they're fvcking embarrassing, seriously it's astonishing.

Pricing on the whole is a joke in England and one of the biggest, if not THE biggest problem we have, the whole mentality of it absolutely riles me. Clubs going for a bit more revenue at the expense of higher attendances, absolutely horrific mentality.

But, the fans have got a lot of blame to take, unfortunately people fail to realise fans mean absolutely nothing to football clubs over here in the top leagues anymore, and we're just tools for money, as much as clubs will try and make you think otherwise, the failure to realise this and the fact the prices are continuing to rise will only keep them going up.

I guarantee in the next 5 years someone in this league will be hit for £40 in a league game, and you know the sad thing? People will probably still pay it, it sounds daft now but where is the line being drawn? The fans are too easily accepting the price rises as they're minimal, but continuous, shame really.

So, like I say, whilst fans continue to pay rising prices, they'll keep rising. A line needs to be drawn, I think eventually it'll burst and the fans will say enough is enough, but people have got to become more aware of how ripped off they're being half the time. I mean £36 for Leeds, you must be absolutely kidding me, anyone who pays that is an absolute mug, simple as that.

100% Agree but it was £40 for a seat in J3 for last nights game...I could fill my car up for the week with £40.

J3 is just the middle of the east stand, no padded seats, not a better view, just the plane old east stand.

I meant more away games where you've got no option.

I don't agree with that price for one second but to be fair there are at least cheaper options, with away games bar the odd exception it's generally the same price for the whole end, and I meant more an away game someone will charge £40, and that someone will probably be Leeds.

Individually I think they are pretty expensive. Especially for adults, it's just a rip-off. Though a season ticket is an absolute steal. As a student my season ticket in K works out to just over £5 a game so I can afford to miss a few it still work out cheaper.

The cost of Football in England is excessive, however i realised pretty quickly that many "luxuries" are too expensive in the UK.

Luxuries being

Sport, Entertainment, Eating out, Travel (within the island), Petrol.

On the other hand....some stuff is ridiculously cheap...

Accommodation, Tesco grog, flights to Europe, cafe breakfasts, and take away Tea

A mate of mine bought two tickets last night for 30quid each. When you think of that, physically handing over 60 to watch something for 90 mins it becomes extortionate. 1 of those tickets would cover my water bill for a month, whilst two of them would cover my gas and electric for pretty much the entire month.

When you put it in that perspective it really requires some serious thinking as to whether its worth it.

It's not all about the view, it's about being where the atmosphere is, too.

Prices for games like last night are ridiculous. £24 for an under 18??? No wonder the attendance was shit. And that's what gets my goat.

Season tickets aren't too bad but comparatively with everyone else our normal match tickets are pretty bad, especially for 'platinum' fixtures.

It needs seriously sorting out because less and less people are going to want to go next season unless the standard of football improves significantly.

Got to a point now that I have to put my family first, food on the table, roof over our head and keep my car in good nick. Petrol rise is unwelcome and going up again by next season, not renewing my ST because cant afford the "matchday" cost of petrol and losing a bit of time at work in the week which gets cut from my pay as I leave earlier than my finish time. Football in this country is massively overpriced, I believe they make a profit the moment you pay £3 for a ticket which is what it costs in VAT, overheads etc, the platinum fixture schedule is just one massive own goal, biggest gate this season in the league is Leeds with 5000 empty seats. Says a lot abut money in peoples pockets.

In this country we are not allowed to be sexist, racist and quite a few other 'ist'. But on many fronts firms can be ageist, by this I mean if I sit between a 17 year old and a 65 year old I have to pay considerably more than the the other two for no other reason than my age, for the same experience. As I say it's not just football but transport, entertainment etc. Just wondering why this is allowed?

Ticket prices are a joke I paid £38 to sit in J Block last night to watch that shit. I'm not a season ticket holder and I've only missed the Derby game this season so work that out, My mates pay less to go watch Liverpool every week.

In some areas it is expensive but if you don't like it sit in the corners, only £25 and view is still good
