topharry123 Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Banged in another 3 tonight, and now has 24 league goals and 6 cup goals this season, with over a month left. I know a lot of people didn't want him when we were linked with him, but anyone thinking that he may have been a decent buy? I know league one is a lower level so maybe he wouldn't have cut it at our level, but it seems like maybe at only 23 he would have been worth a punt! The couple of times I have seen Sheffield United this season he has looked like a proper goalscorer with a definite deadly side to him !

I agree that we need a target man in the summer but I disagree that a target man is the only type of striker we need - IMHO the more top strikers we have the better - look at West Ham, they've got loads to choose from. We rely too much on Becks and Nuge in my opinion, Nuge has looked knackered in the last few games and no wonder, we need more competition for places.

People took the piss out of me when I mentioned this bloke months ago. Read back through the threads. Then again, league one is much easier to score in than the championship. Sometimes it's about having the right system to suit a player at a higher level and the right manager to guide them.

He's not better than what we have but he'd do as back up, not that he'd be particularly cheap now he's had a thirty goal season.

Think he was 6 foot 4/5 but was very mobile and has also got an eye for goal, and because of their financial problems he would cost no more than 1m But if we where to fail with Both of these I think we should then move to Ched Evans! Bit of the topic but me and a friend where talking about who would replace Howard and he said there's a guy in the russian league who was linked with stoke in the summer, called traore he Is supposed to be 6 foot 6 and my mate rates him very highly, but have never heard of him anyone know of this guy!?

Decent goalscorer target men are a rare commodity, hence why Howard is still at the club, all be it he isn't decent or a goalscorer

But reckon NP has already drawn up his list for next season or if we some how manage to put a amazing run together to get in the prem he's probably drawn up his wish list for that as well. 🐺
