JonnyBoy Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 This topic is an area of much controversy. I was at the game today and with the other 3000 travelling support i was bitterly disappointed with the outcome. For me their was only a few lads on the field today who i could see putting in their all, and the majority where there to pick up their wage packet. At the full time whistle it was a mixture of a response, people where booing and others where singing 'Leicester till i die' Can somebody please tell me how licking the players arse's after a half-hearted performance is going to give them the wake up call and a kick in the arse?? I would be the first to applaud the players if they put in 100% passion and graft but today wasn't that. People who were booing weren't booing because we lost, but its the week in week out frustration and the players need something to make them realise it is not good enough. People go up and down the country spending hundreds of pounds and have to justify their expense to the rest of their family. Put yourself in the players position, you stroll out of your 10 plate range-rover, put in a passionless performance and then having your fans applauding you for this.... how is that going to change the players attitude when on the field? A few of the players need a wake up call, and a few fans need to get out of their arse's and see the daylight. Discuss
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 People pay money, and when most of the players don't give 100% it frustrates us, and in a way we have every right to boo.
purpleronnie Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 In my opinion you shouldn't boo, no matter how bad. What if you wanted to scare someone real bad?
beemeroo Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Many people that can ill afford to go and watch their team put a half arsed performance against opposition they should really turn over. It isn't just one week, its most weeks. I'm not a booer myself, however if you've been pushed to it I don't blame you, at all.
Corky Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 There are times when booing is ridiculous. One bad performance out of 8 or so when you are top of the table is wrong, for me. Today, however, I didn't join in but I could understand why there was booing. It was out of pure frustration and the feeling of "we've seen this before, too often".
StanSP Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 People pay money, and when most of the players don't give 100% it frustrates us, and in a way we have every right to boo. But you want them to improve performance, right? You want them to show the travelling fans how good they are, right? Well if you do, booing just isn't the answer. Please don't get me wrong, I totally understand that you pay money and travel miles and miles and do get frustrated. But booing is NOT the solution in an attempt to change things around. Booing just isn't productive in my eyes. It shatters confidence and doesn't inspire.

Corky Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 The booing only took place at the end. Throughout the 90 minutes the support was positive and encouraging.

I know, its because fans want to show that they are frustrated and the players may realise how much they have let us down.
Simmo86 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Inept performances deserve booing not what we saw today!
Benji Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Mob mentality. I forgot to put a clause in a contract draft the other week, fortunately i didn't have my supervisor booing in my ear.
foxfanazer Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 In my opinion you shouldn't boo, no matter how bad. I'm with you on this. I agree that people are entitled to boo If they really feel let down but for me it does no good for the club. Pearson will know who he can rely on for next season and who isn't pulling their weight, and the owners know if the manager is taking the club in the right direction. They don't need the fans to tell them things aren't right. I wouldn't call anybody for booing because it does cost a lot to go to games nowadays but it's just not for me. Especially away from home a well
HEGGSY Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 <p> I know, its because fans want to show that they are frustrated and the players may realise how much they have let us down. It never works out like that though, many times have the players been booed, but it's never once this season culminated in a superb performance the week after. Then the players come out with shit like "the fans were brilliant, its a shame we couldn't repay them"
wattolcfc Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 For the first time in a long time I booed. Mainly because I'm struggling for cash but wanted to treat myself to watch my beloved city play, and the way they went about 'playing' today was absolutely terrible. There are a lot of people who cannot afford to watch the boys play week in week out and when they put in such an inept performance, I believe you have every right to vent your frustrations, especially when the players in question are getting paid THOUSANDS of pounds a week, something which many of us would love. Ask yourself this.. If you performed badly, week in week out, in your job, would you not be disciplined and then finally sacked? I will follow city as much as I can, no matter what league they are in but when the players don't show any desire what-so-ever, and I am parting with my hard earned money, then I will continue to vent my frustrations, whether it be right or wrong, effective or not. Also I noticed how a very select few came up to the fans afterwards to clap us, while others swanned off down the tunnel, seemingly not giving a thought to how much it has cost us to come here and as if it meant nothing to them, which I thought was very disrespectful given that they performed so badly.

Thats fair enough. Your post did make me laugh though. The bit about if we performed poorly in our jobs just gave me an image of 3000 people booing me whilst I skive an extra 10 mins on my break not that I do that of course
Libertine Dream Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 I didnt think the performance was bad enough to warrant booing or 'what a load of rubbish' but if people want then so be it. Had we scored early on, had Dyer scored his chanve then I think we'd have won by a good couple of goals and everybilody would be upbeat. Thats football, as long as you support your team Im not bothered how you react the that just dont tarnish our reputation.

Danny the Fox 95 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 I didnt think the performance was bad enough to warrant booing or 'what a load of rubbish' ERRRRR... It was
Lobsterboyuk Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Under which definition of support is booing a part of? If you're expecting a thrilling performance week in- week out then Leicester probably isn't the right club for you. LCFC is bigger than one manager, bigger than the current squad, bigger than the current fans - that's why I'm Leicester till I die - I'm not licking any bodies arse - bad day at the office - doesn't matter how much you earn - or how much you pay - booing does fvck all for the greater good of the club - FACT
peterborofox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 People who say that today wasnt the sort of game that deserved booing, must have been at a different game to a lot of us. It was dire and woeful. Players didnt put in a proper shift and some of the basic things couldnt even be done, passing for example. The final ball was shite all the time, and everytime we got the ball into their area a posh player was always hungrier for the ball than one of ours. Dismal display by the team today.
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Had we scored early on, had Dyer scored his chanve then I think we'd have won by a good couple of goals Had Kermocu.nt scored his peno against Cardiff we would be in the prem. Had we scored two more than them we would of won. Had Sven known what he was doing he would never of got the sack. Had your Dad pulled out, you wouldn't be here
AKCJ Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 I think if the players have had a bad game they need a kick up the arse and they should be booed. It's the most effective way of voicing your frustrations. Likewise i'm the first to clap them and cheer if they've had a good game (I.e. Worked hard).
Kitchandro Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 As I said on the other thread... I don't really give a shit whether people boo at the end tbh. I don't think the players care, none of them are being singled out so it shouldn't affect their confidence or attitude, the seasons over, so really I just don't care. People can do what they like, today was shit and it's been like this all season. I can completely understand their anger and I share it in fact. I think it's a bit pathetic of Foxes Talk to come out in defence of the players when they are booed at the end of games like this, there are far, far more pressing matters which we could discuss. Even if the team did give it all (and I actually noticed certain players giving it far more than others) that's the minimum requirement of any professional footballer at any level. Sometimes that's not going to be good enough I'm afraid. Live with it. We are disgracefully poor in a few areas of our game. What difference does it make whether we boo or not at this stage?
