stivesfox Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 Tonights phone was a total waste of time, its a case of vindicating one player and Alan Young carving his haggis knife to subsiquently assisinate one person. The team played badly at the weekend, we can go through the whole playing squad and pick fault, as the caller said had it been a boxing match the game would have been over. Tuesday against Forest we couldnt break through them, Peterborough we couldnt break through them. I agree the cross that came in Beckford should have through himself at the ball when the cross came in. We gave away a goal if we now want to be critical Marshall turned his back on the ball, Drinkwater didnt run around like Danns. We dont critiise. Yakubu played last season scored goals was Lazy the same Scottish pundit ripped in to him for being lazy. Young has his favourites, like Gallagher you wont see him tear arsing around however Young doesnt slate him. The radio programme should have been about the team, but Young and Stringer decide to play their peace of commentary to subject Beckford to a call in of hate, which has been incited by Alan Young and Ian Stringer. We lost the game as a team 1 individual didnt cost us the game, Beckford did work back and track back, for what ever reason he didnt go forward for the free kick only Jermaine and Nigel Pearson know why!!! I find Alan Young extremely bitter nasty person I for one be extremely pleased in the cull next season of players and staff on the playing side be happy to see Radio Leicester heave Youngs arse out the door too!! I dont entirely blame Stringer he will always agree with Alan Young its his hero and plays and agrees on his every word!

The guy Glenn summed it up!! I think its hard enough without one person being made a scape goat, there are many players underperforming

Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 I agree entirely, I am so sick of hearing him lay into Beckford, even when priasing him he couldn't quite do it, Stringer: Oh that was great work from Beckford Young: Yeah but he should have cut in on his right and done this done that blah blah blah He is as responsible as anyone for the negativity that has permeated through our club, and to single out Beckford when for the majority of this year the problem has been defending, and it is a team game. It was just incessant on the radio against Peterborough everything Beckford did was just subjected to ridiculous amounts of scrutiny and he couldn't let an incident go. It was pathetic, and boring. I don't know if he should be sacked but he should seriously be told to lighten the fvck up and get off players' backs, just call the action on the pitch.

Ricardo did it for himself, but the others have all been persecuted at one point or another, not sure all the blame is on Young but he certainly doesn't help things.

He constantly stood up and supported Beckford when he first arrived, so now he's definitely more than entitled to voice his displeasure at his recent performances. I personally don't mind him, I think we're lucky to have a broadcast team like Stringer and Young.

Young actually spent a lot of time at the start of the season when Beckford wasn't performing defending him, saying he needed to settle in. I think he's just fed up.

I dunno? Just a suggestion? Yes, such a possible accusation could be aimed at a number of players, but Alan Young was a striker?

Its a sad indictment on football today when people want a radio pundit sacked, only because (lets face it) the team are under performing... Talked to her like she was a moron. It was cringeworthy. He does seem to single people out. Think Beckford is for a tough end to the season though. Unless he hits form fast, he could be forced out.

But it is just the constant going on about Beckford, there are 10 other players on the pitch, say he has made a mistake, but say it once and then move on, like with any other player. It is on and on and on about a mistake, and then Stringer over compensates by overly praising every thing that Beckford does well, which gets Young's back up so he feels he has to agree, but only by mentioning the previous mistake. It has been like that for the last few games.

But surely a phone-in is all about people offering their opinions, including the pundit?
stivesfox Posted 2 April 2012 Author Posted 2 April 2012 Beckford didnt warrant 48 minutes of air time this evening moaning about him constant, football is a team game of 11 players, there were few on the pitch who by their own admission be disapointed in their performance, I sat on the front row next to pearsons dug out, he was bellowing and bollocking a majority of the players. If the players were to have an open forum about the season I am sure they would all agree that they have had a part to blame in a shocking season. Young used to slate Danns now Danns has rammed it back down Youngs throat! The whole side hasnt performed, go into extreme detail of the game, each player had a fault. Funny how Nugent Young said was loss of form well he defended him, Nugent didnt have a good game, but is serving to play more wide. Young does influence the arm chair fan reading twitter coming out of london road and people referrring to Jermaine Beckford well I thought I had been the wrong game! The Young factor does promote negativity amongst fans and players, Jermaine Beckford listens to that shocking forum deystroy the bloke. Had we been top 6 yes I agree we may not have this post but, if the radio summariser wants to get critical of one person then he should expect supporters to question his radio views as pure savage!!

Imagine if Youngy, say three/four months ago was giving such a negative 'opinion' on Richie Wellens? The bulk of the forum would have been praising him for his superb judgement of a player's shortcomings and for climbing aboard the 'Wellens out' bus lol

buzzy Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 i used to like alan young but is starting to piss me off know always slagging off beckford . him and stringer playing that commentry bit is shameful but i would not sack him. what made me laugh was someone on the phone was saying its wrong that some fans were saying your not fit to wear the shirt and alan said that's wrong. both should look at the team not just one player ,sought it out radio leicester
