SACK Alan Young!

Christ, anyone would think the bloke was Joseph Goebbels with this so called power of swaying the publics opinion.

He is entitled to share his opnion just as we are, it's what he is payed to do.

I'd rather he continued to speak his mind than step on egg shells when discussing players performance.

Fvck's sake. This again. Who really cares that much who commentates the matches? If you don't like it how about you actually go to the games :S

I would, but the 12000 mile round trip makes getting to the Tuesday evening games tricky

Well played Stringer & Young you successfully turned the fans against Yakubu, and Ricardo after they replaced those outstanding talents Waghorn and Weale and have done the same with Beckford. :appl:

Don't like what he says then don't listen to the radio.

I have virtually no other way to get my information about the game. I have on occasion turned the sound down on Stringer and Young and listened to the THAI commentary on the stream.

If it was just BBC Leicester that would be fine they can make their own decisions as to who is on air, BUT!!, I HAVE to pay for Foxes player if i want to hear the game and if you are going to charge me, you have to provide me with an acceptable service.

I have no issue with Young's passion for City and i dont really mind Stringers, fashion and pie updates every 7 or 8 minutes or the continual crap about Hinkley. But, Young in particular seems to have his favourites and his "enemies or scapegoats" and his passion blinds his accuracy and from what i see on streams and read on here and other sites, misleads his listeners.

To those of you who dont HAVE to listen coz your at the game, you dont know how lucky you are.

As I understand it Stringer's employed by the BBC to do the commentary and provide information on the game, Young is employed to give his personal opinion of the game and the players, like most media these days he's probably encouraged to be controversial.

Seems like he's doing a good job :P

Could not aggree more , I can not stand the guy all he does his moan . It's been depressing listening to us play this year anyway but i honestly belive he makes it sound twice as bad .

This year we have been lucky enough get most home games streamed and when I watch I also have them on and what they say sometimes really does not match up with what i'm watching .

It was Hull at home that pissed me off this year and that Danns red card . All Young did was go on about how wrong it the ref was for the rest of the game even when people who had seen replys told him it was a red he still did not back down .

Then the first 25 minutes of the post match call in was on about how we have had poor refs this year . The ref was right FFS and furthermore we won the game FFS and yet because all Young as done for the rest of the game is moan about how wrong the ref was we had 25 minutes of knob head callers slating the refs this year.

Calling for anyone to be sacked because you don't agree with them is ridiculous.

Grow up - this is real life, not a bloody game.

I think Stringer/Young do a great job! Some people are unbelievable to try and please.

We have both of these guys PASSIONATE about our club, both want to see us do well and people moan!!! Get real!! Maybe we could bring back Jon Barber with some of the terrible co-commentators we had alongside him!

Im not denying Youngy can be controversial and irritating at times but he cares and he knows his stuff half the time!

Plus on the Beckford thing, yes he criticises him alot but can people remember how much Youngy stuck up for him when EVERYONE on here was slating him! Works both ways guys.....

I think you will find it is just a Game lol

But honestly it's not as simple as i don't agree with him so want him sacked . That would be wrong everyone as a right to their opinion and that is what Alan Young is payed for but there is a big diffrence between having an opinion and trying to force your opinion on others which i feel Youngy does alot e.g Butting in on callers all the time .

Now i won't go as far as saying i want him sacked but just for him to tone it down alot . Give your opinion yes but don't go on ad on and on and on and on ..............................

There is an agenda at work here.

Stringer and Young (and sadly Lee Jobber, who was a guest on last night's show) would have us believe that Beckford's was the ONLY bad performance on Saturday. As most folk who went to Peterborough will know, that was far from the case.

Why were other senior players not subject to the same scrutiny?

An alternative view currently being heard a lot in Leicester, is that the manager may have lost the dressing room, just as Sousa and Eriksson did. If there is any substance to this, he'll be lucky to survive until the end of the season.

But there's no way Ian "Yes Nigel, three bags full Nigel" Stringer or Young would allow that type of discussion to reach the airwaves.

Has anybody actually listened to the commentry for a Derby, Coventry or a Forest match before. Believe me if you listened to their commentators I dont think you'd be slating Stringer and Youngy quite so much. We've actually got it pretty good compared to a lot of other teams.

We cannot have another manager pushed out by the players or the club will become unmanageable...if it already isn't.

I think most of Alan Young's comments show he is out of touch with football. Mike Bassett springs to mind.

But...I listen to him and filter out the rubbish. Why can't other people do that?

If we lose the game, we blame Beckford.

If we win the game, the whole team played well, although Beckford could've played better.

That's the way it goes for Youngy and everyone else who dislikes Beckford.

Big Alan cant see past his complete love of Leicester City , cant hold that against him ,

A love that strangely remained dormant for the best part of three decades, after he was sold in 1982.

Must admit Youngy was one of my all time City heros but it does grate on you, my missus was laughing at the radio on saturday due to comments from Stringer about two or three hairsytles, while the game was on,the guy is a complete amateur and listening to the City games is no longer the enjoyable passtime it was

Maybe he was worried one of the Mayors would drop their trousers in front of him?

What cretinous comments you make, Colin. Is it not possible to still love a team when you move away from the City? You're aware of his every waking comment and thought from 1982 are you?

Fvck sake!

I've always thought it would be a good idea to hear the commentary from the home teams local radio station, i.e we'd get radio Derby when we play them away, and they would get stringer and youngy when we play them at home, and so on.

it may be better if each radio station had a guest commentator from the away teams local radio station, at least you would get both points of view.

I must admit I struggle to listen to stringer and youngy, would rather watch the updates on sky.

What are you on about? If anything, Young has just been honest! He constantly stood up and supported Beckford when he first arrived, so now he's definitely more than entitled to voice his displeasure at his recent performances. I personally don't mind him, I think we're lucky to have a broadcast team like Stringer and Young.

Well said I've listen to a few games on other local and they are terrible no passion at all

Colin as in Mayor Ultra?

Colin, as in Captain Pantsdown, scare the children, Morrissey loving, a legal team like a law version of the SAS, baseball bat inserting threats Ultra. Yes. :)

You come out with so much shit without thinking.

It's the local Leicester radio station. It's not like "Don't like Tesco, don't shop there." There's no other alternative. It's either put up with that twat with his stubborn, shit opinions or nothing at all. If he was the voice of the fans it wouldn't matter but he is so far wide of the mark it's unbelievable.

I've followed City for 25 years and I've listened to the moan-in maybe twice in the last decade. I didn't like that tw@t Andy from Long Eaton who kept ringing in, so I stopped listening. The RL show, like 606 and most other phone-ins is just buttock-clenchingly embarassing most of the time anyway. Some of the callers are just complete spanners, others can barely string two words together and I'd rather form my own opinions than get it from a mix of the half-wit Leicester public who once went to a game in 1994 and Alan Young. These days, websites and forums like this carry far more sway than the "red-hot soccer chat" shows anyway.

But if you want to gauge how much the show affects people, look no further than my dear old mum. Never been to a game but she'd "string that Beckford up, he's rubbish, they're all saying what a waste of space he is on the radio". When I asked her if she like him to head the ball clear in the box, beat four men and score she said "Why not? He cost them enough, we'd be better getting Alan Young back out there!"

I've heard some commentary from their one - Colin Fay or Colin Fray.

He's awful. Squeaky voice and an unbelievable twat.
