it depends who i'm with, if i'm with my mate i'll do rounds, if i'm with a group of people normally get my own...

One of my mates made me laugh once, when it was someone elses round he wanted one of the most expensive drinks, when it came to his round we firstly had to remind him it was his round, then we ordered the same drink he was ordering and he said "nah I ain't buying 'stupid' drinks" so we all said ok we'll have pints, of he goes orders us all pints then had't bought himself one, off he goes walking up to a free tea, coffee, hot chocolate machine.

Needless to say we dropped him out of the round after that.

Get on the rounds, you tight bastard.

*Unless it's a huge group, then it just get's confusing aswell as expensive.

Started getting rounds at a young age cos I'm very babyfaced and you don't tend to get ID'd when you do.

Have kept it up since to save me having to go bar every time I'm empty and because, frankly, it's what adults do.

I hate it when its someones turn , and they say "oh i reckon i'll just have a coke this time".

mean buggers they are.

I hate when it's someone's turn and they're drinking REALLY ****ING SLOWLY.

Depends how many are out, if there's a lot i'll usually just pair up with someone and take it in turns with them. If there's 3/4/5 of us then it's cool.

Despite being mates, some people are just tight fvckers and don't bat an eyelid about not getting you a drink back. They might just be forgetful but it's still annoying.

Depends but I normally get my own ythese days. With some people last night. Two were in rounds as they had met earlier and I went in rounds with the other. We didn't drink much so it was only a round each and bought the last one ourselves. Can't afford to go in big rounds anyway If I am offered a drink and they are with a group I make sure I am not expected to buy for them as well if I get one back.

Best way if you stay in one place is to have a kitty then what you drink doesn't matter as you all put an equal share towards it.

I always cop for the rounds in the clubs/expensive pubs.

Never EVER in Wetherspoons. Such a mug.

But yes, rounds are the manly way to drink.

Grrr.

Yeah I tend to do this if we're out with work, there can be anywhere between ten and twenty five of us and **** rounds that size.

I hate rounds , I just want to drink at my own speed all night, not waiting or being rushed along .

The walk to the bar on a more regular basis is no great hardship to me (especially when Julia or Kerry is serving)

and at my age I generally want a piss about every other pint anyway so as i'm already up I kill two birds with one stone , so to speak .

Fair point, I tend to limit rounds to groups of five or six.

Also, only just noticed your sig! lol

What's the context of that?!

It always starts off in rounds but i drink far too quickly so i usually end up getting the round in +1 extra for me. JD & Cokes go down like fizzy pop for me. A night out generally includes a couple of trips to the cashpoint. Unfortunately.

Never bothered with rounds myself. If someone's just about to head to the bar as I finish my pint, then I'd give them some money and ask for a pint. Likewise if I'm heading to the bar I tend to check if anyone wants anything while I'm up there, but it's pay for your own drinks.

I'll do rounds in a two or three man situation. No more than that, and only on the rare occasion.

Firstly I don't drink lager, so back in my youthful days was stung every time it was my round. (cider used to be cheap when it wasn't so popular and mainstream)

That and I like to drink at my own pace, not by a groups frantic savagery to out do each other.

Depends on the crowd really. We'll usually start off doing rounds in the first pub/bar, and then as the night progresses everyone tends to get their own drinks.

If it's someones birthday we'll almost always do rounds, make sure they don't have to pay for one. Free night out once a year!

Let everyone get a round and when its your turn go minesweeping  ....

Never ask them what they`re drinking though, just tell them its a surprise. My sister-in-law got a Pernod/Malibu/Gold Label and coke once.... She loved it and now drinks it regularly whilst watching the Jeremy Kyle show on weekday mornings.

Daggers' response is as silver-tongued as ever of course.

lol lol lol

There ought to be some sort of forum alarm bell that rings when shit like that is kicking off in innocuous sounding threads .I’d completely missed that one, thanks for pointing it out chaps

If I am in a group of 2 or 3 then its rounds but any more than that I stick on my own, Same applies to splitting the bill at a restaurant

That's another kettle of fish. I won't EVER split the bill at a restaurant, unless with the wife. It's a mugs game in a group, with people putting drinks on the bill, and ordering side orders and dessert.
