Milton Keynes Fox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 People were singing "you don't even care" there just seemed no passion today.
Guy Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I think by the time we're facing West Ham on the Sky cameras the Monday after next then we'll be in a clear position to say what's definitely going to be required. By then we'll know what our closest rivals have done next weekend and will have also played Burnley at home by then of course. It should be an advantage in a timing sense as opposed to us playing on the Friday before everybody else does next weekend or something. As for today, well it was always going to be a tough fixture, Millwall are one of those sides who invariably seem capable of getting the better of us more often than not, no more clearly has that been demonstrated by today's result - following in the footsteps of their emphatic and season defining defeat to them at the King Power in October that saw Sven sacked shortly after of course. In reality it was going to be tough today had we won, bearing in mind the wins that Cardiff and M'boro' had away from home against mediocre opposition (albeit ones that they could've just as easily lost on their respective form).....but the fact that we lost once again to a team who have nearly 20 points less than us, then the task of "sneaking 6th" once again has gone from a tough proposition to a very forlorn looking one!! Still, hope springs eternal and all that. It really is still finely balanced and if we beaty Burnley on Tuesday and Brighton, Cardiff and Middlesbrough don't get the results they want then the procession of tease continues unabated!!

Danny the Fox 95 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I swear we took more than 1400 today!!! OS says we took 1400?! Joke.
Guy Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I wouldn't bother if I were you mate. I'm just being objective and trying not to get carried away by the moment in too much of a negative way like some clearly are! Besides when have we ever done anything at Millwall anyway? That win there in league one when we could do no wrong is the only plus I can recall in recent seasons at the Den. Last season and this we've been shite there. Then again following defeat at Millwall last season we did go onto win seven in a row..........so here's hoping we can now win three in a row. Oh wait.....
Dylan Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Had been so excited for this all week, only to see that. Hugely disappointing performance against a very poor Millwall side- what makes the loss even more sickening. They didn't look any good at all, but they got two chances and stuck them away. Think we were better first half, enjoyed more possession, but once again we don't do anything with it. Mind you, we were very unlucky too- one shot was going in and it deflected off a defender and just hit the keeper.... a corner was punched by their keeper onto their defender and just missed- along with many attacks just being so close to one of our players getting onto it- so the lucks not been with us at all, just like Peterboro. So typical that they score from a set-piece- saw it coming all day. Was let off from the first one where they hit the post, yet we fail to clear our lines once more and they hammer one in. Second half, bar the last 10 minutes, we were awful tbh. Hoping we would come out strong in the 2nd and get an early equaliser and go onto win it, yet we give a penalty away with a stupid challenge- not going to slate Konchesky too much though cause he's been one of our better performers this campaign. Once the penalty went in, I thought we'd start playing and make a game of it, but we lacked fight, spirit and hunger which is what disappointed me the most, no urgency at times despite losing 2-0 in a game we needed to win to keep our season alive. Drinkwater had a good impact on it, getting a goal, and setting up a good 10 minutes- unfortunately left it too late and we couldn't grab a point- but all in all- a poor result and performance. Don't think Gallagher should've started- very ineffective and doesn't get stuck in at all, along with Andy King who goes missing. Also think the referee and officials were intimidated by the Millwall fans- every single 50-50 decision went their way. Season's pretty much over now so hopefully we show what we can do in our last 3 games and score some goals! Also, pretty much says it all when the coach journey back to Leicester was more entertaining than the game... had fun abusing the chavvy Londoners and some quality banter with a coach of Liverpool fans on the motorway!
NottsFox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 "You don't even care, you lazy b*******, you don't even care" Apart from Schmeichel and Drinkwater I'm furious with the lot of them today. Overheard some guy talking on the way to get the train afterwards talking about selling the lot of them made me laugh. The more I follow the foxes the more pessimistic I get, me and my dad were discussing how we would prefer to be in the championship than the premier league anyway... What?

A replica of our defeat there last season then.....although we all know what happened next after that under Sven. Let's hope history can repeat (ib that we win everything that's left in sight - even in unlikely!)
Corky Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I said in the Ipswich post-match thread that we needed six or seven wins like that to be in the top six next season. LIkewise, we need to cut out the all-too-regular defeats like today's.
old koppite Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I wasn't there, but I don't get why the players didn't put more effort / effort in second half. It doesn't make sense - was it just a case of each of them waiting for someone else to make something happen? I realise in the modern game you can't have people sprinting round like head less chickens, bu t sometimes a burst of energy ove even a few minutes, ala beckham in the england v greece game lifts the team and the crowd.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 players wages should depend on the match results. a certain amount for a loss, a higher amount for a draw and their full salary for a win but that will never happen
Leicesterpool Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Hated the idea of keeping us in the ground after the game. utter disgrace missed my train cause of it. At the wait an hour for the next train, having to listening to gloating Liverpool fans. Thanks alot Pearson!
Daggers Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Hated the idea of keeping us in the ground after the game. They always do it while they clear the scum off the streets.
The Snooty Fox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 What was with all the city fans sitting down today like a bunch of mutes! We were poor on the pitch but the majority of the fans did bugger all to lift the team. Some good support from various sections of the stand but It wasn't enough. Poor day out to say the least.......
MarkHowieLCFC Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Honestly thought we'd pull off a bit of a miracle and make it to the play offs...still prefer my pint half full tho...listening to doncasters chairman berating ref decisions for the smaller clubs made me chuckle cos we're massive and decisions have gone against us just as much...
21st Century Fox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 players wages should depend on the match results. a certain amount for a loss, a higher amount for a draw and their full salary for a win but that will never happen Take some consolation in the fact that they've probably just pissed away massive promotion bonuses. It obviously wasn't that much of an incentive though.
Libertine Dream Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Take some consolation in the fact that they've probably just pissed away massive promotion bonuses. It obviously wasn't that much of an incentive though. Oh no I bet they're crying while looking at their Bentley's, sat in their 6 bedroomed 800k houses, getting ready for a game of golf tomorrow.

What's a few grand for promotion when you get more than that each week just for turning up! seems like its just a job for most of the players...feel quite negative atm because of the lack of wanting to play for the shirt...
Dan Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I really am embarrassed to support us at the minute. How can a side with such impressive resources have so little going for it? Heartless display, they should be fvcking ashamed. Total disgrace. Season well and truly done for.

Well it is just a job, very few footballers see it otherwise anymore, they're just currently sh*t at said job.
Dan Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 You know what, why the fvck should I even bother on Tuesday. It's a nothing game, it'll be dull as fvck, Burnley will bring fvck all, we'll probably draw, or even worse, win and all the teams above us lose so then our fans talk of the play-offs again lol lol lol We're not play-off material, we haven't been all season, the team just do not care, there's a total lack of fire in their belly and that's never been so evident when we lose games to fvcking piss poor sides who have pretty much nothing to play for, who are on a fraction of what our team is on, because they want it more and they don't bottle it. Honestly that actually is up there with one of the worst displays I've seen, it's just the manner of it, we start well but as soon as we went one down, our heads dropped (as usual), we stopped creating (as usual), we started hoofing to players who can't win it (as usual) because the midfielders don't drop deep enough to collect the ball (as usual), it was always going to go one of two ways today and that was either we get the win and everyone, myself included, is seriously thinking we're looking like pulling off the miracle, or scenario B - what actually happened. The same fvcking shite that's happened all season long. The squad is over-rated and the mentality is surely the worst in the league. Over the past few years I've always been gutted about the season ending but this year I hate to say it, I'm really not. I might get bored occasionally on a Saturday but I'm tired of constantly being pissed off after every single away game I go to. Most frustrating side to support in the league. There cannot be a worse one. I tell you what if those season ticket prices go up significantly, which they surely will knowing us, then I'll seriously consider my attendance.
J.Lisemore Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 Quite disappointed i booked Tuesday night off work now. It just aint good enough by our boys. Although, I'm confident we've got the right man in charge now, with his sensible transfer policy we'll be up there for sure...next season.
