Ben Marshall / See you next season

Hello Leicester lads and lasses. It has been a while!

First of all I'm sorry about your season. I expected you to do a lot better than you did and I'm sure you are all bitterly disappointed given the financial outlay that you made in pre-season. What went wrong? You have a good squad though so you should make a good go of it next season.

How is Ben Marshall doing? That lad was quality for us and I was gutted when he left. He has everything, pace, composure, goals, good crosser of a ball, can beat defenders, I've noticed he has chipped in with a few goals for you. I was 100% certain he could do a job in the Championship how is he getting on? I'm sure that will be money well spent.

We are back up and we have a much better squad now than we did last time we were in the Championship. With a few additions I fancy us to shock a few next season. Madine is very much one to look out for. I look forward to the trip to your place next season.

All the best,

TO

Did he ever score a tap in for Wednesday?

Ben Marshall has been great for us so far. He can score some crackers as well.

All the best to you for next season. :)

Ben Marshall's been better than expected. Fitted straight in to the team and give us another dimension, glad we bought him before you

Can't wait for the trip to Hillsborough either fella! Congrats on your promotion!

Yep Ben Marshall has been great, slow start but when played in a more central role he is absolute class, and when played in that type of role he could get man of the match everytime.

Not keen on him out wide though, and hopefully some agree he has been at his best when more in an attacking midfield role.

Might visit Hillsborough next season aswell, that will be on my list along with Blackburn and Blackpool(if not promoted)

He normally beat about 3/4 defenders or scored crackers.

Our loss has been your gain. He is a cracking lad and a fantastic talent. Unfortunately due to his form for us he always going to move to a Championship club. I'm glad he has gone to a good club like Leicester and not some tinpot Championship outfit.

Thanks for that! No sale as of yet but I'm sure Milan will sell if he gets the right price.

1. Leicester

2. Sheff Wed

Heard it here first ;)

I hope so I'd quite happily take that.

I can see why you would want to play him there. He'll get involved more on the ball and it gives him more license to get forward.

I know a fair few SWFC fans via Twitter etc... and you lot were absolutely raving about Marshall more often than not, so I was pretty delighted when we signed him as I thought we needed a winger big time.

Your fans have been pretty spot on about him, they told me he's a confidence player and once he gets one he'll pick up, because he was pretty slow starting for us and looked average at first, struggling to impose himself on games but then came that screamer at Chelsea, and I just had a feeling that goal might be significant, it was a pretty pressureless game for him seeing as we were 4-1 down, so it was good that he took advantage in style.

Ever since then he's hit a 30 yarder v Hull (albeit a deflection), a curler from the corner of the box (maybe a bit closer in) against Doncaster and a drilled 35 yard free kick at Ipswich (slight luck again but still), whilst setting up a few more, his cross for Beckford's goal against West Ham was top notch.

As for Wednesday, glad you're back up really, always bring a lot here and vice versa, never really had anything against you (although a lot of your fans seem more concerned by Sheff Utd than yourselves in my experience), should be a good game.

No doubt Mandaric gets his revenge.

Live with a Wednesday fan who's done nothing but spaff himself dry over Michail Antonio since he was bought in there on loan from Reading. We should snap him up in all.

I've also had to live with one of these.

He keeps saying Antonio is a hell of a lot better, what's your opinion TartonOwl?

He's a really great player. He's got a good long shot but his crosses are really good as well, he seems to get them right in the middle.

Definitely a starter for next season

Being a two team city the rivalry is probably greater than most other local rivalries in the country. A number of our fans do talk about United too much but it's to be expected when we live, work and drink with them. Obviously I am biased but I would say it is more the other way round. They seem to have a big chip on their shoulder when it comes to us. The Blades biggest supporters flag even has our name on it. That says it all to me!

*I'd take Reda Johnson from them as well, class.

Reda is a beast. He still has parts of his game that need improving, but he has pace for a big lad, he scores goals, he is strong, he is decent going forward down the wing, he is strong in the tackle, and he is the best attacker of a ball in the air I've seen in a long long time. I would hate to be marking him at corners he wins everything in the air. His decision making at times lets hims down but he is young, improving all the time, and he is such a handful. Reda has left numerous attacking players in a crumpled heap when defending, there are very few that get the better of him. In his home debut he scored and did an absolute cruncher of a tackle. I'll see if I can find a video, he has had cult hero status ever since.

I've also had to live with one of these.

They are both very good players but Antonio is a different sort of winger to Marshall. He is more direct, more about pace, and whilst he scores more than Ben he isn't as talented IMO with the ball at his feet. He is like a young Lloyd Dyer if that helps as a comparison. Marshall is better technically but Antonio is also a match winner.

Welcome back Tartan! Glad it was you and not those pig-blunts that came back up! Just want Huddersfield up now and that other lot from your city to rot a bit longer.
