Jaspa Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Lambert has resigned at Norwich after they wouldn't allow him to speak to Villa. Are they all abroad or something ? Seems like a funny time
Fox92 Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 Says on Sky Sports, Lambert has fell out with the board regarding the Villa job. Doesn't say he's resigned (yet)? Suprised at the news though.
Corky Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 Lambert has resigned at Norwich after they wouldn't allow him to speak to Villa. Rumours about Malky Mackay returning.
Happy Fox Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 Lambert doesn't strike me as a guy to play a hissy fit, if he leaves Norwich it will surely be travesty, their club will go backwards imo.
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 Regarding villa job, Lambert will have a massive chat with O'Neill about why he left that is for sure
davieG Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 Paul Lambert is edging closer towards becoming Villa manager after reportedly walking out on Norwich City. It is understood that the 42-year-old Scot had a row with the Canaries board after his club refused him permission to speak to their Premier League rivals. Should this be the case, Lambert will be all set to fill the vacant managerial role at Villa Park in the next few days. Representatives of the highly-regarded boss are due to meet with Villa today to try and thrash out a deal. LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 So they have rejected his resignation, why didn't they just accept Villa's approach in the first place because he wants to leave to a much bigger club
Corky Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 Lambert's job applications seem to come in the form of comfortably beating the team he moves onto soon after.
Father Ted Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 This managerial merry-go round is fvcking ridiculous. Firstly, I have so much respect for Martinez for rejecting Liverpool. Secondly, Rodgers straight away rejects Liverpool, they go back for him and he's off in a flash... hmmm.. no respect. And with Lambert, it's been dragged out so much. Seems like everybody has forgotten that West Brom are still managerless
Fox92 Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 It's not going to be that quick, Norwich will want some compensation in some form. It won't be a lot though, although there will be some. He's only on a one year rolling contract apparently. Lambert was only on Goals On Sunday the other week saying how it was great at Norwich because he's never had any expectations! Can't fault him though, Villa are the bigger club and he has a chance to turn them around.
Tom17LCFC Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 Holt must have seen this coming with his transfer request then. Wonder if we'll see Holt pitch up at Villa Park this summer.
Jaspa Posted 2 June 2012 Posted 2 June 2012 Lambert confirmed on Sky Sports News Could see that working long term for Villa Whether they go down next season or not Something has snapped at Norwich Big Time
davieG Posted 2 June 2012 Posted 2 June 2012 Could see that working long term for Villa Whether they go down next season or not Something has snapped at Norwich Big Time If you mean snapped because Lambert has left then maybe, if you mean Lambert left because something had snapped there then I don't think. Lambert has shown he attaches no allegiance to any club and that his career comes first, he's a highly ambitious man.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 June 2012 Posted 2 June 2012 Am I the only person who doesn't see Norwich to Villa as much of a career move? I mean historically yes, but not for a very long time, plus Villa has been the low point of so many decent managers careers, in some cases (Little and Gregory for example) finishing them.
purpleronnie Posted 2 June 2012 Posted 2 June 2012 villa have the potential I only see norwich as trying to maintain premiership status.

Villa finished sixth three years in a row up to as recently as 2010, they have real potential. Can't see Norwich doing that any time soon.
Fox92 Posted 2 June 2012 Posted 2 June 2012 Got more chance of winning trophies at Villa, in my opinion. Apparently he will get a decent transfer kitty as well.
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 2 June 2012 Posted 2 June 2012 No question that Norwich to Villa is a big step up, lets not kid ourselves just because Norwich have had one season back in the premiership that they're now better than villa
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 3 June 2012 Posted 3 June 2012 Knew it would be Lambert from start. He does exactly what O'Neill does apart from not to come to us
