Jimothy Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Song close to joining Barca apparently. Bigger lose than RVP I think, really makes Arsenal tick.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Song close to joining Barca apparently. Bigger lose than RVP I think, really makes Arsenal tick. Tell that to an Arsenal fan and they'll laugh. Song is replaceable, a couple of chipped through balls to RVP doesn't make him a world beater, apparently his distribution is close to poor. Arteta would've been a greater loss. Should Arsenal bring in Sahin I actually think that their squad - on paper at least - is stronger than last season, if anything. Giroud, Podolski, Cazorla, Sahin IN - Van Persie and Song OUT is steady business in my opinion, especially for the prices being bandied about.

I only know 2-3 Arse season ticket holders but they all say Song is overrated, passing dreadful at times. They are fine in midfield, Cazorla, Wilshire, Arteta Ramsay can do that job. WTF are Barca signing Song? He wouldn't get in their second team.
Fox92 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 I don't watch European football (apart from Champions League), but will Song even play? Mascherano and Busquets seem to do that job fine!?
EcclesallOwl Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Finding out at around 10:30 tonight, will post it in here when I find out!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 My Wednesday flatmate has just had my phone going ballistic, think he's spaffed himself.
AKCJ Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Loan or permanent? Still very young, clearly Moyes didnt need/want him. The sale of Rodeell makes it all the more stranger.

ScouseFox Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Wouldn't say anyone could know that's "the signing of the summer", he's an 18 year old who's not even played 10 games as a professional. Be interesting to see how he does though, Everton fans and players go on about how good he's going to be, wonder how good he currently is.

Have to agree - could turn out to be brilliant, but we've not really seen enough of him at all to know how good he currently is. Clearly got potential though.

Clearly got potential though. Yeah, pretty sure Moyes got him to sign a really long contract (think it was 5 years or so) when he was 17, so he obviously thinks that eventually he'll be good enough to play for Everton, and maybe more. Not good enough yet though, so he's sending him out on loan. If Moyes thought he was good enough now he'd play him, Rooney had played two full seasons worth of football by the age Barkley is now.
Guest MattP Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 If Everton fans say he's brilliant and going to be a star he must be. Remember Nick Chadwick, Danny Cadamarteri and James Vaughan?
Tincy Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Manchester United have rejected an approach from Chelsea for Mexican striker Javier Hernandez http://soccernet.espn.go.com/?cc=5739#
EcclesallOwl Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 This Rodri from Barca B has turned down offers from La Liga to join us.. why are we starting to make good signings now!?
Guest MattP Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 This Rodri from Barca B has turned down offers from La Liga to join us.. why are we starting to make good signings now!? lol Classic Mandaric, every player we signed under him had "turned down a Premiership club to join us"
EcclesallOwl Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 lol Classic Mandaric, every player we signed under him had "turned down a Premiership club to join us" Came from the players agent mate, suppose it was probably like Grenada or a team like that.
Guest MattP Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Came from the players agent mate, suppose it was probably like Grenada or a team like that. Fair enough, I remember us beating off a host of Premiership clubs to sign Carl Cort, those were the days.

Not to be disrespected after that Chelsea goal...and only that Chelsea goal. Sheff Weds look to have a pretty decent side. Think Barkley could be a cracking signing!
Fox92 Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 lol Classic Mandaric, every player we signed under him had "turned down a Premiership club to join us" Exactly. And my neighboor is always telling me how Mandaric wants them 'in the Premier League in two years' etc... Think's I haven't heard it all before
