Happy Fox Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Southampton have signed Gaston Ramirez for £11.8m.
Tielemans63 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Southampton have signed Gaston Ramirez for £11.8m. Think they've only agreed a fee with Bologna. I wouldn't be surprised if Ramirez wasn't that keen on a move to Saints as he's been linked to some much bigger clubs. However if none of them make a firm bid then maybe he wil end up at St Mary's.
sdb Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Jose Bosingwa signs for QPR, having been released by rivals Chelsea. good signing imo Southampton have signed Gaston Ramirez for £11.8m. ashamed to say i have no idea who this is...pretty decent i'm assuming?
21st Century Fox Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Think they've only agreed a fee with Bologna. I wouldn't be surprised if Ramirez wasn't that keen on a move to Saints as he's been linked to some much bigger clubs. However if none of them make a firm bid then maybe he wil end up at St Mary's. From the quotes attributed to him, he's really interested in the move. I despise Southampton. Southampton are set to announce a club record signing after tying up a deal to bring the Bologna striker Gaston RamÃrez to the newly promoted Premier League club. RamÃrez, 21, has been linked with moves to both Liverpool and Tottenham this summer but has chosen to move to St Mary's Stadium instead. The Uruguay international has admitted he can't wait to get started in the Premier League for Nigel Adkins's side, for whom the signing is a sizeable, and unexpected, capture. "They believe in me in every way," RamÃrez told the Italian newspaper, Corriere dello Sport. "And above all I have said that they are going to grow. "Southampton is a newly promoted team in the English top flight, but they have the means to stand tall in a few years. And with me they are going to build. It's all very stimulating – even if it is a little strange." The forward scored eight goals in Serie A last season and gives Adkins another option up front with the Saints manager having already signed Jay Rodriguez from Burnley this summer.
bluesbrothers Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Loving all the media hype for RVP's move. He's not kicked a ball yet and they're already talking as if he's won the league for them. A great player, yes, but then so is Fernando Torres, and look how long it took him to find his feet at Chelsea. Debatably, he still hasn't. Now poor Robin is facing huge media scrutiny, which never ends well. If ever a signing was doomed to failure, this is it. PS: This is also surely the final nail in the coffin of Arsenal's competetive edge. A slump into becoming mid-table regulars now awaits them, hopefully.
Fox92 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 good signing imo Agreed. QPR building a decent side in my opinion, I think they'll have a better season than last and could see them being mid-table. AyewJoking Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Its the Mark Hughes factor, I rate him as a manager. He'll get them top ten then a bigger club will steal him away.
Corky Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Hughes does well after his first season. Keeping them up was his biggest task, now he can use his influence to make them better.

Simmo86 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Alan Nixon â€@reluctantnicko Sheffield Wednesday about to pull off one of the best captures of the summer ... Young English player Danny Mayor?
Simmo86 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Matt Phillips hands transfer request in at Blackpool. Southampton made a bid!
EcclesallOwl Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Danny Mayor? One of the best captures of the summer? Mayor sounds a good player but I doubt people see him as one of the best captures of the summer
Happy Fox Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 One of the best captures of the summer? Mayor sounds a good player but I doubt people see him as one of the best captures of the summer Who is it then?
EcclesallOwl Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Who is it then? No idea should find out soon!
EcclesallOwl Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Danny Mayor signed on a 3 year deal, Rodri undergoing a medical
Fox92 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Matt Phillips hands transfer request in at Blackpool. Bit poor to be fair. Blackpool buy him from Wycombe, give him a taste of Premier League then Championship football, then Southampton come in for him so the transfer request? Who is it then? Someone poor hopefully.
Simmo86 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Danny Mayor signed on a 3 year deal, Rodri undergoing a medical So who's the capture of the summer then?
EcclesallOwl Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 So who's the capture of the summer then? We don't know yet!
EcclesallOwl Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Think it might be Ross Barkley, no ones sure though!
Fox92 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Ross Barkley? Moyes was only saying a few weeks back that Barkley is ready to fill Cahill's boots. Rodwell has left since also. Decent capture (if true) I still think they've signed too many players, even if required.
