Jaspa Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 I read somewhere that Blackpool are considering an offer for Barton. BBC Gossip column
RonnieTodger Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 Alan Maybury to Birmingham. What the fuck EDIT: Was on Wikipedia and the guy updating the transfer section obviously heard who he'd joined wrong. He's gone to Hibernian
Fox92 Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 Alan Maybury to Birmingham. What the fuck He's only just signed for Hibs... Just been reading he was 'stunned' by the atmosphere at Easter Road in his first Edinburgh derby. Obviously played for Hearts before us, now at Hibernian. Can anyone remember his goal against Sunderland for us? Striker's finish.
EcclesallOwl Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 We've agreed a deal to sign someone but have to wait until the club sign a replacement before it can be finalised
RedHux Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 We've agreed a deal to sign someone but have to wait until the club sign a replacement before it can be finalised Matt Derbyshire?
RedHux Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 Ishmael Miller? (assuming he'd survive the journey up the M1 without picking up an injury).
EcclesallOwl Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 Ishmael Miller? (assuming he'd survive the journey up the M1 without picking up an injury). I'd take him, assuming he gets injured a lot?
RedHux Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 Yep. I was quite pleased when we signed him but it seems he can only do the one thing (turn and run with the ball). He does it well enough but I'd quite like him to be able to pass or head or hold it up or use his other foot or shoot or any of the things most footballers take for granted. In short, he's hugely frustrating....but mostly injured.

I'd have Miller over Derbyshire anyday So happy we didnt end up with Matt, looks like a right runt now Ishmael could still be a decent player in the future, built very, very well knee(?) aside
RedHux Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 You can have both! Cut down prices, We'll even have a whip round for their bus fare. Miller's the worst because his physique, pace and power promise so much but so rarely can he deliver. He's also one of those moany types who starts shouting and bawling whenever things don't go his way. Derbyshire's a good finisher but shit at everything else and seems to be knocked over by a stiff breeze.
Tielemans63 Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 Alan Maybury to Birmingham. What the fuck Seriously?!

I think Ishmael will come good somewhere or another one day And no, I wouldn't want Leicester to sign either of them for any price, we've got Marko Futacs
Jaspa Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Seriously?! Only source Ive found on Maybury is from a day ago http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19216823 And it shows he just joined Hibs Must be a wind up

A plodding, one-paced ex-Hearts player - he'll go down brilliantly with the Hibs fans.
Fox in the North Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Rodwell becomes man city's first signing, £15million
RonnieTodger Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Seriously?! Beg your pardon. I was browsing through the "English summer transfers 2012" bit on Wikipedia and the guy attempting to update that had obviously heard it wrong. He's actually gone to Hibernian as opposed to Birmingham.
Jaspa Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Jack Rodwell finally takes the step up Manchester City will push him, I only hope he will succeed
Fox92 Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 A young player needs to play to get better. Rodwell was very promosing and played regular at his club, Everton. Will he play every week for City? Doubt it. Has the chairman signed him? Mancini sounded odd during the pre-match interview.
AjcW Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Have I been asleep? Or has that rodwell transfer come from nowhere!!!
Fox92 Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Have I been asleep? Or has that rodwell transfer come from nowhere!!! You're right, when they announced it on ITV before the game, it shocked me a bit.
Fox92 Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Everton have confirmed they have agreed a fee with Manchester City for England international Jack Rodwell http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7984849/ I like Everton, always have done. But there's a few fans commenting about him not being able to get into their team!? I thought he was an important player for them.

Any Everton fan worth their salt will know Moyes likes to blood young players slowly. He played Rooney sparingly despite the fact he was clearly good enough to start every week.
Tielemans63 Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 If he can stay injury free Rodwell is a terrific footballer.
