But there's a few fans commenting about him not being able to get into their team!? I thought he was an important player for them. It's true, he was on the bench a lot for them last season.. Don't forget they had/have Fellaini, Cahill, Osman, Pienaar and Phil Neville who can all do jobs in the middle.

God knows why Man City have signed him, although I've got a sneaking suspicion that it's something to do with the fact United have tried to sign him in about every one of the last 5 transfer windows. He's hugely overrated as it is, some people think Liverpool have been ripped off but this proves they're not the only club stupid enough to pay well, well over the odds just because a player is British and young.

Big names are very hit and miss, and the sensible but steady building process is I think the way to go. Yeah I think it's the right approach to take. Much better than doing what we did. Will be interesting to see how you'll fare.

Also, rumours abound of signing some lad from Chelsea on loan. Sam Hutchinson? Retired after n injury but came back last year. I know nothing about him so can't really say if he'll be any good.

I think he's slightly overrated, never worth £12million imo, especially not £15million. £5-6 million and I'd snap your hand off, let alone £12 million.

He was supposedly going to be the next John Terry (in footballing terms). He was VERY highly regarded by Chelsea, captained the reserves at a young age I think, but had a terrible knee and retired. He eventually got over it and the doctors gave him the go ahead to play again, and fair play to Chelsea for being loyal and taking him back. IF hes near the player he was/going to be before he retired, you've got yourself a good champ player there.
RedHux Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Yea, that seems to be the considered opinion of Forest fans too. Apparently we've asked and now it's up to Chelsea to give it the go ahead. I watched Ayala against Fleetwood and he seems to be the dogs so from having one defender with any first team experience we seem to have built a decent back four in about a month.

Never started a game for us though and it all seems a bit desperate from Blackpool although I would of probably taken James Caton.
