shen Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Wonderful to see Shevchenko in this sort of form. Undoubtedly one of the best of the past two decades!
leicester4life Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 anyone know who this shevkhenko kid plays for? looks fairly good and i reckon we could get him fairly cheap, 500k kinda thing? dont look very old either, aint heard of him before, must be early 20's? i reckon we could buy him now and then if a big club like chelsea came in we might be able to get a decent wedge for him? trololololololol
Haydos Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Always been very fond of Ibrahimovic, when it comes to close control and touch he's up there with Ronaldinho with what he can produce from nothing. Such class.
ScouseFox Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Olof Melberg is playing CB/ST. Like really. Both boxes at the same time. At 34. Lunatic.
Voll Blau Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Should've stayed on his ****ing feet there, the twat.
Father Ted Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Ibrahimovic is such a waste of talent. So much skill and ability but such a lazy bastard, lets his team down.
purpleronnie Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 not sure england will be happy with that result.
Tielemans63 Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 not sure england will be happy with that result. ^^ This. We've got a crap record v Sweden, could've done with a draw.
Guest shearfox Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 ^^ This. We've got a crap record v Sweden, could've done with a draw. Crap record maybe, beat them comfortably in a friendly and didn't look too good tonight, if we don't beat them we don't deserve to progress. Play like we did against France it will be a comfortable victory.
Guest MattP Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Sheva legend, crowd superb. People of Ukraine fantastic, hope Sol "coffins" Campbell makes a full apology after the tournament.

Jimothy Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Sweden created a lot but wasted a lot. Don't think they'll be a huge threat to England. Ukraine created little, but capitalised one two bits of poor defending from Sweden, I doubt we'll give them a sniff of goal. Confident we'll go through on the evidence of tonight.
Soar Fox Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Olof Melberg is playing CB/ST. Like really. Both boxes at the same time. At 34. Lunatic. For his last game for Aston Villa they were playing away at West Ham and he organised that when the villa fans went through the turnstiles that they were given a Melberg 4 shirt. I don't know why I'm telling you this but I thought it was a nice gesture
Jon the Hat Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 not sure england will be happy with that result. I am thinking they might beat France if they play like that again... Then when we beat Sweden Ukraine are already through and we will beat them as they rest their small selection of good players.

Did we watch the same game, or did you just jumble the two around? Apart from the header on the post, the goal, and the final bit of pressure near the 90 minutes, Sweden created nothing. Ukraine had at least a few openings, Konoplyanka must surely have had the most shots of any player in the tournament so far. Sweden will likely play better against England and with Elmander/Toivonen/Ibrahimovic they'll pose a much much bigger threat in the box than France did. Don't know if that will suit England. Ibrahimovic is such a waste of talent. So much skill and ability but such a lazy bastard, lets his team down. There's two sides to Zlatan. He was their only threat yesterday. Hit the post, scored the goal, and put Elmander through with another brilliant piece of skill. Without him, they probably wouldn't even have qualified in the first place. Then again, he was at fault for Shevchenko's second goal and after the first 15 minutes he didn't bother marking Tymoshchuk allowing Ukraine to dominate proceedings. Elm and Källström never got to impose themselves on the game because he went AWOL.

Elm and Källström never got to impose themselves on the game because he went AWOL. Sweden got behind the Ukrainians quite a few times. Zlatan a couple of time, Rosenberg a couple of times, Mellberg, Wilhelmsen and Elmander. Larsson also dug out a few decent crosses. They just failed to convert. Ukraine, bar the two goals, all their efforts were shots in front of the Swedish back line. Sure they had a lot of shots but they were all digs from 18-25 yards, but they hardly created anything, hardly ever got behind the Swedes. Sweden should and could have scored more, but Ukraine against a better marshalled defence, won't get a sniff.

Guest MattP Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 eh? The Panorama episode where big Sol got stiched up by the beeb and decided to announce to the nation anyone considering going to the Ukraine was coming back in a coffin.
