So, you decided to complain about it not dying because someone posted in it, by posting in it?

Some good work there.

It had been dead for 30 hours. We had got through the night without ozleiceater posting. It looked like it might finally be the end. Then trav posted and all hope was ended. I posted juat 13 minutes later, while the thread was still alive. That's the difference, my love.

Still - if you want a thread to die, a good move is to not post in it.

Read the rest of the topic to understand my use of the word "evolved", you might note that i even put it in quotation marks in order to make it clear for the more confused readers.

You can't just use a word completely and utterly wrongly and then claim it's alright because you've put it in quotation marks! Why use the word evolved, when you could use other entirely unrelated words such as "Brick" or "Octopus"?

Hell, I might just start substituting the word vegetarian with "Dickhead" - it's ok though, because it's in quotation marks and people know what I mean!

To summarise: Don't butcher our language.

Were you sitting there with your stopwatch?

Of course it is - a man with a soap box knows no bounds

A man stands on a soapbox.... and no one comes up to listen... the man is silent, if people engage him in discussion, he speaks. I think its the idea of a soapbox, or the current equivalent... the "forum"

ev·o·lu·tion (ebreve.gifvlprime.gifschwa.gif-loomacr.gifprime.gifshschwa.gifn, emacr.giflprime.gifvschwa.gif-)n.

1. A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form.

2.

a. The process of developing.

b. Gradual development.

As is so often the case a pathetic attempt to divert discussions off topic by throwing in irrelevant comments about spelling or grammar. If you have nothing of value to say in relation to the discussion at hand... perhaps its best to.... just shut up.

Also, i think you will find that english is a living language, it is changing.. one might even say "evolving" all the time, i note your comment didnt contain a single word like "thou..or "hast", you know why... they have become irrelevant in todays language.

To summarise, if you dont know what the fvck you are talking about... best to shut up.

If you'd responded to any of the questions I posted then I may believe it's more than a stomping ground for preachers/preaching.

As it happens I just think it's a place for people who will never see eye to eye to attempt to belittle each other and as such the thought of arriving at 50 pages is little more than tragic

I tried pretty hard to answer ALL (sensible) questions presented, if you can point me to any of yours i may have missed, i will be more than happy to address it/them.

There are a couple of people who enter the discussion for no other reason than to stir the pot or, as you say, belittle others, and i admit that i have responded in a similar (valueless) fashion. However i think if you read probably 80% of the discussion it has posed some interesting and differing opinions, again you are right that some people will never agree, and thats fair enough, no-one should want a world where we all think the same.

I had a question for this actually.

Do you regard people who eat meat as evil?

Do you regard people who participate in events that relate to their culture that requires the killing of animals (e.g Bullfighting, Fox-Hunting) evil?

SAVE THE SEAHORSES.

I went to Scarborough Sealife Centre the other day. Marvellous, and I enjoyed the background music. Very apt.

Anyways, I learned that the seahorses are in danger, so I donated a pound coin to the cause, which was heart warming but fun at the same time because you had to put the coin into one of them things that the coin rolls round and round on for ages before dropping into a hole. I had a good 10 minutes of fun on that ride as I decided to add all my coppers and 5p's one by one.

I was laughing like a nutter.

Meat eaters - Absolutely NOT!

People who kill for fun - I feel they are committing an evil act, but i genuinely believe that most people are good.

Actually, having now looked at the dictionary definition of "evil"

e·vil (emacr.gifprime.gifvschwa.gifl)

adj. e·vil·er, e·vil·est

1.
Morally bad or wrong; wicked:

2.
Causing ruin, injury, or pain; harmful:

3.
Characterized by or indicating future misfortune; ominous:

4.
Bad or blameworthy by report; infamous:
.

5.
Characterized by anger or spite; malicious:

n.

1.
The quality of being morally bad or wrong; wickedness.

2.
That which causes harm, misfortune, or destruction:

3.
An evil force, power, or personification.

4.
Something that is a cause or source of suffering, injury, or destruction:

Number 2 does seem to suggest they are... but again as i ahve said many times in this topic, im not out every day of my life abusing and taking meat eaters to task, i sit and have lunch at a table with work mates evry day that sit and eat various types of carcass, 99.9% of our lunchtime conversations are NOT about meat.

This is a topic about animal rights and therefore we discuss the killing of animals, its not the entirety of my life

You chaps seem to have spent a lot of time hanging about in Scarborough .

Did you meet an elderly gentleman in a shell suit , dripping in bling and smoking a big cigar ?

I've been sort of veggie last few days. Wed I had Quorn and marrow bake in the Age Concern cafe. And last couple of days quorn mince with rice and veg in home made byrani.

Not gone over completely. The marrow bake looked the best option and the quorn lasted two days so was cheaper. Need something today. It's either a walk into tow as I need food and other stuff or a trip to London Road Tesco or one of the take aways and do shopping tomorrow. There is a chicken type take away near me on Sparkenhoe Street but I need a cashpoint first so can't go there.
