The Doctor Posted 31 December 2012 Posted 31 December 2012 Venison is beautiful, proper taste. Y'know what, I bet that's it - all this moral crusading, Oz is just sour that he has to contend with crocodile and a million and one other things that just taste like chicken.
The Doctor Posted 31 December 2012 Posted 31 December 2012 I'm fairly certain my venison didn't have a mullet, does that mean I was scammed?
Guest MattP Posted 3 January 2013 Posted 3 January 2013 Just cooking some Pork Loin. The venison talk in here is making me dibble, not had it for years, remember it being absolutely fantastic when I did.
Captain... Posted 3 January 2013 Posted 3 January 2013 @Pablo and oz Regarding the breast milk argument, you both make valid points, if the information you are quoting is true. But this is the problem for me reading it is that there is clearly a lot of conflicting information out there, and it is easy to find info to support your argument. So lets get this down to hypotheticals. Oz: in a world where safe vegetarian instant milk doesn't exist, and is, as manwell describes, going to seriously increase the chances of a baby dying, or developing problems, would you use a non vegetarian baby formula? There are also no other lactating women around to share their breasts. Manwell: in a world as oz describes, where there is a perfectly acceptable vegetarian milk formula solution, that is equal in every way to non vegetarian formula, and proven to have 0 negative effects, the only difference being that no animals died in making it, which would you choose?

No, i have stated time and time again throughout this discussion that i am not suggesting that a human should die ahead of protecting an animal and therefore if it is a human life ahead of an animal, then i accept the human has more right. (mind you if its a forest supporter that may need to be reviewed) to life. IMO - An animal should not die, for human pleasure, whether that be..a fur coat, a fox hunt, a horse race or a steak.

What world is this Narnia? It's medically not safe. Although my option still, as breast milk is one of hundreds of holes in his distopian fantasy for from the only one. Although my option still, as breast milk is one of hundreds of holes in his distopian fantasy for from the only one. So you support the keeping of cows for milk then? Oz has answered honestly, and played my little hypothetical game, why can't you? It is perfectly plausible that we could develop a medically safe vegetarian milk formula. The point I'm trying to make is that you would both probably agree to the same thing if you had the same information, Oz would never knowingly harm his children or anyone through forcing strict vegan principles on them, if the only alternative is a meat based product then he would take it, he has stated that before, but in this world we have managed to replace the majority of animal based products with synthetic and vegetable based alternatives. If you say that some of these products aren't safe then you have to question why companies are allowed to make them and promote them to people like Oz and encourage them to risk the health and safety of themselves and their family, and not berate Oz for believing that a product made and sold as a baby formula is safe. Likewise Oz should not berate you for believing Cow's milk is a safe alternative to breast milk, when he says that it is not safe. If people are endangering human lives by selling unfit for purpose baby formula, or encouraging mothers to feed their babies cow's milk when it is not safe, then that is a much greater issue than point scoring on an internet forum.

It is safe in most situations, (as with all things including lactose <cows milk> intolerance etc there will be those it is unsafe for and will be advised not to use it)... but as always there are vested interests and closed minds that choose not to accept it. http://www.vegetarian.org.uk/factsheets/soyainfantfactsheet.pdf This ..oh and this...
ozleicester Posted 4 January 2013 Author Posted 4 January 2013 Had veal for the first time the other day from that little Italian on narborough rd. Absolutely lush. Danno Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 What is the point of animals to us if we don't eat them?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 Animals eat Animals and we are Animals end of story.
ozleicester Posted 4 January 2013 Author Posted 4 January 2013 What is the point of animals to us if we don't eat them? Animals eat Animals and we are Animals end of story. So you are no more intelligent, or capable of decision making than a pig? - so i can eat you?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 So you are no more intelligent, or capable of decision making than a pig? - so i can eat you? If you want your food beer battered you may. Animals tend to eat other species of animals tho

The Doctor Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 So you are no more intelligent, or capable of decision making than a pig? - so i can eat you? Eh? Nothing he said was actually wrong - we are animals, and if you argue with that I shall beat your head in with a biology textbook. Oh, and since we're on animals eating other animals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRSLQu-d6ZQ

I am suggesting that as the most evolved animals on the planet, we have reached a stage where we do not need to eat the less intelligent or evolved, if we did, this would mean that we would all be snacking down on Forest, Leeds and Cov fans on a daily basis.

Captain... Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 Such arrogance. Pray tell, how are we the most evolved animals on the planet? Can you name a more evolved animal? I guess it depends on your definition of evolved, for example an animal with a very short lifespan and high reproduction and willingness to mate with family evolves more times than humans, but we have evolved to be the most advanced in terms of brain power and capacity to think and reason and override our instincts with logic, of all known species.
