seenitall Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Seems a good choice to me too - he looks like he commands respect from the players and at least Nige is letting everyone know he's da boss by having his man as Capn
flowwolf Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 I'm happy with this Good I shall give Nigel a ring he will be so relieved.
Simo86 Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Good I shall give Nigel a ring he will be so relieved. Cheers for that
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 July 2012 Author Posted 19 July 2012 Surpised at some of the negative comments. For me it was always between Wes and maybe Kasper, but like ACF said, Kasper doesn't need the armband, he's vocal enough. Good choice Nig. Haven't read the article yet but I wouldn't mind a few comments from Wes about what an honour it is to captain the club etc etc, the Forest fans will hate that! Racist
RedHux Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Good work Wes! Although, to correct some of the earlier posts, Wes only ever captained us on the odd occasion, when the actual captain went off or it was Wes's 400th game or something. He's never been the club captain.
ozleicester Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 I am surprised that anyone is surprised by this appointment. This is a "Nigel Pearson" team, being captained by a "Nigel Pearson" player. If you havent figured out what we can expect from this season you need to review his previous seasons. On the good side this should mean playoffs as a minimum.

Agree, i still find it surprising that people doubt Pearsons credibility as a manager. His record in his first sting with us speaks volumes with me. Last season he took over 'someone' elses team.

jamesmilner Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 theres something more in morgan being captain than being captain ? morgan will play more games than most as captains dont sit on benches . morgan has to be in pearsons mind to play all season . thats my take on it . it would be strange to keep dropping your captain .
Fox92 Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 I've seen that captain Morgan image loads of times around the forum, but I think it looks like Dyer at first glance
ta-fc Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 Still chuckling. Seriously though, good appointment. A leader in the Steve Walsh mould, who cares who he used to play for. Finally someone with a sense of humour... With regards 'same old trolls etc' - I could respond with same old moaners no sense of humour but I won't... Slaps forehead repeatedly

Surely one of Svens most bizarre managerial decisions was when he made Mills captain one week then dropped him the week after. Start of last season I think?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 its a bit Rum making Captain Morgan . . . . . . .
Red Dawn Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 Just seen this news and delighted for Wes. Just out of interest, he was never Captain at Forest - just filled in when McKenna/camp went off ... Decided to give it chambers instead.. Well done Wes
