ta-fc Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Better candidates out there in my opinion and none of them ex-forest captains! Morgan wouldn't even be jn my starting 11!
Grewks Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Better candidates out there in my opinion and none of them ex-forest captains! Morgan wouldn't even be jn my starting 11! he was our best defender when he was in the team, showed more passion, commitment and more importantly ability than our others players. And when we played forest he didnt play up to their fans like beckford at leeds. IMO apart from kasper there are no other contenders.
Guest Bilo Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Surprised by this, though Kasper was a shoe-in. Might not be a bad decision, even if he was captain for the Unmentionables down the road.
dobbylcfc Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Good choice I think by Pearson mabye Kasper should be vice captain??
Grewks Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Am i right by saying he is the only member of our squad who has been captain before? I know king was for us, but was covering for oakley, have we got any others?? maybe konch?? or was kasper captain at notts??
Cropwellfox Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Wasn't expecting anything else - was obvious since he signed he'd play every week when fit, and is clearly what Pearson is looking for in his team - unspectacular, steady, consistent and no big ego.
FrankieADZ Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Good choice imo, probably the best defender we have at the club atm and can't fault his commitment and effort on the pitch.
teblin Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Has done it before. Leads by example with his commitment. He is 1 of a few senior Players that will play everyweek. Don't see what the problem is?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 July 2012 Author Posted 19 July 2012 Least you know no one will try to talk back to the captain.
Jace Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 This is the difference between Pearson and Sven, Pearson chooses his most experienced player whilst Sven picks his flashiest signing
ta-fc Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Least you know no one will try to talk back to the captain. I wouldn't be too bothered about it... He'd never catch you if you ran off!
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Great choice Nigel Makes a lot of sense...
cc_star Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Great choice. There's only him, Wellens & Nuge who are captain material.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 July 2012 Author Posted 19 July 2012 I wonder what Pearson was drinking last night... Haha nice
goose2010 Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 like others have said who else would you have?, I'm a believer in having a centre half as your captain, surprised it wasn't Kasper but I think it is the correct decision. We are going to have a relatively young team this year and Morgan has a lot of experience both playing and captaining a side.
Fox92 Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Pleased with this, I wanted him to be captain all along. Think he has the passion and talk to be a captain, we've seen him captain before at Nottingham Forest. I like defenders being captain's. Great choice. There's only him, Wellens & Nuge who are captain material. I agree. Better candidates out there in my opinion and none of them ex-forest captains! Don't see the problem. I mean, Martin O'Neill played for Nottingham Forest, I doubt you wouldn't want him as our manager.
ACF Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Kasper already talks a lot, he doesn't need the captain armband.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Like Bilo said. I thought Kasper was nailed on. Nah.. I think Morgan comes across as calmer and more composed that Kasper. Calm and composed will be necessary this season with the younger lads coming in
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Reading this is laughable. I know we're all entitled to our opinions but Wes is a great leader. He has all the attributes to do a great job. People saying its appallinge etc clearly dont have a football brain
