Asha Posted 15 August 2012 Author Posted 15 August 2012 My boys the Amber army have a great start, this could be the year. Jefferson Louis, he scores when he wants. Bit early yet, but I hope so. Aaron O'Connor is on fire at the minute. Great for young Lee Evans to get his first goal for the County too Leicesterpool will be furious. Bottom of the league too Ah well, at least Villa are back on Saturday.
Leicesterpool Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Leicesterpool will be furious. Our defense is letting us down! I'm not furious we all knew this was going to happen but still 44 games to go!
Leicesterpool Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 My friend plays for Alfreton in the BSP Connor Franklin local lad who used to be at Leicester. So will be keeping an eye on how they are doing this season. Good player he his, used to play for the boro.
Soar Fox Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Good player he his, used to play for the boro. Yes he is. Got an England C cap a year or so ago. Got a couple of football league teams looking at him at the minute.
Leicesterpool Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Yes he is. Got an England C cap a year or so ago. Got a couple of football league teams looking at him at the minute. I heard he had a trial at Cov last season, looks it didn't go well.
Leicesterpool Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Boro got a good draw at Grimsby, but an terrible game of footy. 160 boro fans went but you would have thought it would have been more with the amount noise our fans made.
Daggers Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Can't believe the latest farce taking place at Nene Park as Ladak proves how he doesn't want anything to do with the club by sacking the chairman via a message on the OS. Having promised that all revenue from the events centre will go straight to (not allowed near the club for 5 years) Rolls, you have to wonder exactly how they are going to raise the requisite £20k per month to meet the rent?
Daggers Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Listening to the sounds coming out after tonight's match...KTFC have approximately 7 days until death.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Would that mean AFCR&D would move back into Nene Park then?
Craig Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Would that mean AFCR&D would move back into Nene Park then? Hopefully Nonce Park shall spontaneously combust and allow both clubs, in whichever form either proceed as, to have a sustainable future in their locality.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Boston won 6-0 last night. Should have a good season with a bit of luck.
Leicesterpool Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Boston won 6-0 last night. Should have a good season with a bit of luck. A lot of goals in the BSN last night, Guiseley hammered Droylsden 7-1! I actually hope Boston do come back to the conference, i can see Chester and Boston gaining promotion this season!
Daggers Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Would that mean AFCR&D would move back into Nene Park then? No one wants to - it was fine when Max Griggs was spunking money all over the shop but the day2day running costs simply aren't possible for a non-league side. Serious work has been put into creating a ground which will earn good money for AFC and The Doughboys in Wellingborough - just the thing Poppies fans should have worked towards 12 months ago instead of defending Ladak.

Best of luck to them, the more clubs that are run by the fans for the fans the better it will be for football.
purpleronnie Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Nene park was a cracking ground though. Its weird to think rushden are playing in the same league as oadby town thesedays. I noticed gresley after 2 consecutive promotions have started well again with 2 wins out of 2....pretty impressive stuff after suffering relegation due to financial reasons. I wonder how far they can progress with their current ground though....they get good crowds.
Leicesterpool Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 Boro were unlucky not to beat Cambridge Utd, it was a cracking game of footy. First half was dire, the weather conditions didn't help. Second half was hell of lot better.

I think they can be promoted one more time with their current ground into the Evo Stik Prem, don't think they can go any higher than that though, there's been talk of them getting a new ground for years now.
Tielemans63 Posted 26 August 2012 Posted 26 August 2012 Listening to the sounds coming out after tonight's match...KTFC have approximately 7 days until death. Yep, we're ****ed. Ladak sacks an apparently decent and competent chairman allegedly to replace him with his cousin who has no experience in the industry. Rolls is banned from running or even investing in a football club and is unlikely to be successful in his appeal and even if he is the guy is dodgy as **** and I'm sure will only screw us over in time. Did you go to the game v Banbury yesterday? Couldn't have been more than 600 people there yesterday and it was like a morgue. It doesn't help that the football we're playing now under John Beck makes Stoke look like Brazil. They have no chance of promotion playing like that. Ladak not there as apparently he'll only attend away games from now on. Coward. 140 years of history and this is where we're at. Depressing.
DJhinckley Posted 26 August 2012 Posted 26 August 2012 any of you at a loose end tomorrow as City haven't got a game Hinckley are at home in the first of many, many, relegation '6 pointers'. we're playing Histon, off the back of a completely unexpected victory away at Boston, so we're bound to lose, but it's still a day out why not pop along if you are really really bored: £10 adults £7 over 60s/students £3 U16s FREE U11s *shameless plug for floating support ends

If I have a second team then it has to be Cobblers - but I spent last season going to the Poppies, during their first out of Kettering. This season is AFCRD's first as a new club with a senior team. The attendance was 526 for the Poppies yesterday...and there's suspicions that this was inflated to save admitting it'd dropped under 500. With the prospect of the better players (and that's really stretching the definition) being released to save money and debts being run up all over again, I can't see any future for them. The question will be whether the fractured support can finally pull itself together and build a phoenix club - and working together has proved to be impossible for them to date.
Daggers Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Poppies match yesterday: "The busiest person was the guy having to retrieve footballs from the local scenery". Coaches to Nene Park now cancelled for the rest of the season due to lack of demand. *tick* *tick* *tick* *tick* *tick*

Never should have left rockingham road!
purpleronnie Posted 2 September 2012 Posted 2 September 2012 Good start to the season by coalville...find themselves top after 4 games, gresley also started well. Barwell have had a decent start losing 1 out of the first 5 in the southern league.
Fox You Forest Posted 2 September 2012 Posted 2 September 2012 Good start to the season by coalville...find themselves top after 4 games, I've been to them all up to now, far more enjoyable, not missing City in the slightest. Also won a FA Cup game against Loughborough Uni.
