Non-League Thread (2012-13)

Yep. They'll be lucky if they make it to Christmas.

Tomorrow's the day: Has Ladak paid the bills and secured a reprieve for the club? Has DRC paid this mystery sponsorship money they claim they don't owe? Have the "investors" decided to part with thousands for a living dead, zombie club? Will the Southern League boot them out? Will they officially fold?

Things are for sure in that tomorrow will be one more day in Kettering's history, The Southern League are due to make an announcement and that Ladak is still a total cvnt.

Been to lots of non-league games so far this season, decided to make a point of getting out to watch games that stuck out from the fixture list - seen some interesting games/grounds/teams/fans, including:

Lincoln Moorlands Railway 0 Scarborough Athletic 10 (Ten) - first time I've ever seen one team get double figures in a league game.

Stamford 2 FC United of Manchester 1 - in with the FCUM fans, fantastic atmosphere. Just non-stop singing, loads and loads of different songs.

Colwyn Bay 1 Brackley 1 - travelled with the Brackley team, they went three junctions past the services on the M6 where they were meant to stop to pick up the goalkeeper, one of the fans had to point it out to the manager.

Harrowby United 0 Northampton Spencer 2 - the Harrowby manager had a go at his own goalkeeper for feigning injury, kept telling him to get up.

County still top of the BSBP table, but only just.

Been to most games this season and I think we'll struggle to stay there. A good team ethic, strong defense and a clinical striker have been key to the great start but things are falling apart a bit now. Crucial centre back Ismail Yakubu keeps getting injured, and top scorer Aaron O'Connor seems to have lost his edge in the last few games.

Really disappointing home defeats to Yate Town (FA Cup Replay) and Woking have raised serious questions over our promotion credentials. Really important to bounce back at home to Cambridge, or the likes of Luton and Wrexham are going to absolutely swamp us in the next couple of weeks.

I'm gonna be at my parents in Skegness and Boston are away from home. :(

With the weather at the moment, I wouldn't have thought much football would've been played at York Street this weekend anyway.

With leicester not playing next saturday and your looking for a game, well boro are playing away at Stockport. It should be a cracking game, a relegation battle fixture. Put it this way boro could do with some vocal support. If you could see it in your heart to throw some support to one of the local sides.

Cheapest Conference ground in whole league Luton charged £18 last time!

Surely not? I remember getting in at Woking for about a fiver (>12 years old).

It's not 'supporting the club' in the sense they really need though, is it? Much better for Leicester fans to go to a home game if they want to support Nuneaton, rather than handing Stockport 16 quid and having to travel there too.

Hell of a scrap at the top now, County have faded a little bit but Grimsby and Wrexham have been dropping points too. Should be a very entertaining last third of the season.

But surely the idea of 'supporting a local club' is (at least primarily) about finances, rather than tailing along to an away game?

There are Leicestershire sides in a mess who could really use more gate money on that week off, and that's where people's attention will hopefully be.

Boro got a last minute winner against Lincoln today, fantastic result however it like a war zone after the final whistle a poor lad was whacked for just wearing his home town colours by a lincoln fan, plus one or two pubs in Nuneaton had there windows smashed in!

I've just to add to the trouble from yesterdays game, it's been said no boro or lincoln fan was arrested, only arrests that were made, were the mob that didn't attend the game. The story is a coach load from Lincoln came down had a few beers and caused mayhem in the town centre, during all that some Nuneaton people got involved and clashed with the mob apparently. As it's been said 80 arrests. Also after the game a mob attacked some of our supporters when our fans left the ground yesterday. The weird thing is the mob didn't actually go to the game, they just turned up ten minutes before the end to cause trouble.
