21st Century Fox Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 You don't even need to buy him the Leicester shirt, it may look a bit competitive and confuse him. Just take him to as many City games as possible as from the sound of it he probably won't be going to The Bridge to often. Just immerse him in all things City until he asks for a Leicester shirt himself, that way you've put no pressure on him and you'll come out looking the better man.

I wouldn't mention Chelsea at all personally, he may see it as though you are trying to force him into a decision, which may in turn, put him off Leicester slightly, I know it would have for me (my parents also split when I was at a young age so I can empathise with this). Like others have said take him to a game, hopefully one we have a decent chance of winning / enjoying and let him see for himself what it's really like at the games. I was also somebody who associated themselves with Manchester United, but only because when I first found out about what football was, they had the most England players at the time and all the other kids at school 'supported' them (this was actually when I was living in Leicestershire). I went off football for a couple of years and started to support Leicester when I was 12. I always wished that I could've had somebody to take me to go and see some games but I never did. My first match I went to was away at Reading in the FA Cup in 2005, which was lucky, but it's a memory of the atmosphere and the last minute winner against my local team was a memory that I will have for the rest of my life! My point is try to make it natural and not forced. Give him the option of going to the games and spoil him a little. From there, he should fulfil his rightful place in and amongst the blue army!
FuriousFox46 Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 I have been separated from my ex for a number of years now and she's been seeing a fella for a while. I have a son with my ex who turns five in October. From day he was born, I have always said that my son would follow Leicester as it is his local team and it is the team I have supported since I was a boy. I've always said that once my son was old enough to choose a team I'd let him pick (so long as it wasn't Florist or Direby). It was always my intention that this season, I would take my boy to his first city match. We'd make a day of it and he'd be bought a kit, scarf, hotdog and sweets etc before going into the game and we'd make a real day of it so he'd want to go back again. It was my mum who got me into the City and I've always been looking forward to doing this with my boy. I have today discovered that my ex-partners fella has bought my son a Chelsea strip (this fella supports Chelsea despite being from Leicester) and has had him down the park wearing this strip with photos being taken etc. I have flipped my nut at this and had a massive rant about the fact that following a football team is something passed from father to son etc. I just wondered what other peoples thoughts were? Am I right or wrong to be so angry about this? Cheers
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 Dob him in to the police as a sex offender, that will fook him right off.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 I used to be a fan of Liverpool as a young boy, that all changed when I started to go down to Filbo. Watching Leicester week in week out was far more appealing to me than watching Liverpool on tv. Let's face it, how many times is your son realistically going to see Chelski? About as many times as the tw*t who bought him the shirt. Just keep taking him to the KP and explain the reasons he should choose Leicester as a Leicester boy instead of Crapsea and he'll make the right decision in the end Sort of right.
Saxondale Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 What sort of grown man comes from Leicester and chooses to support Chelsea anyway? Not a man who's fit to be around children. Cave his simple head in.
Mitch14 Posted 14 August 2012 Posted 14 August 2012 Quick side-point, I consider myself a LCFC and spurs fan, Is this allowed or am i commiting some form of treason?

ozleicester Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Quick side-point, I consider myself a LCFC and spurs fan, Is this allowed or am i commiting some form of treason? Not treason as such.. but incomprehensible to me. Surely you are one above the other? If City are playing spurs... who do you want to win?
Salieri Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Quick side-point, I consider myself a LCFC and spurs fan, Is this allowed or am i commiting some form of treason? Choose Leicester, ditch Spurs permanently or.................
tartanowl Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Seriously just wait until he wears it over to yours and bin it. He will thank you for it later when he grows up and realises what a **** that man is coming from Leicester and supporting Chelsea. The man is taking the **** and should not be forcing his glory hunting ways on your boy. Why didn't you take him to the KP sooner? My little lad had his first Wednesday season ticket as soon as he was born and his first kit was bought at 3 months. He is coming up for 3 now and has had a load of kits and been to a number of games.
AyewJoking Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 If youre from Leicester but support Chelsea you are obviously a plastic fan so he is hardly going to get your son a season ticket at Stamford Bridge. Nothing to panic about in my opinion, just carry out your original plan and I'm sure your boy will become a City fan and enjoy all the pain and frustration that comes with it
Mark_w Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Quick side-point, I consider myself a LCFC and spurs fan, Is this allowed or am i commiting some form of treason? Go and sit in the corner with that kid in the Spiderman costume.

BstarFox Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 you could allways force Roman Abramovich to sell you the club and put chelsea in that much debt it has to fold and therefore there is no more chelsea football club.. Solved
