Yojoe36 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 I agree that it should be abolished. However, you look like an absoulte twat if everyone is doing it around you. It's funny when the camera shows the man city fans doing it, and there's some fat bloke standing still on his phone. I don't really want to be him
cambridgefox Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 One of my favs the aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Not many do it bar us and Leeds I think! Cambridge did it over 20 years ago and look what happened to them!Must admit they had loads of good chants and wit.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Carnt remember what song kasabian sang but everyone wanted to sing it last year but it never kicked off!? Anyway that would be better in my eyes!?
samstown92 Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Something new, Something that's different from other English teams and something you bounce to!
foxfanazer Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 How freaky would it be when/if we score nobody made a sound
foxfanazer Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Something new, Something that's different from other English teams and something you bounce to! The okey cokey?
RonnieTodger Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 No. Just no. The song is shit, and it will sound even worse 15,000 odd singing it wrong. I would rather have that Fratelli's song back. Personally, I don't see a massive problem with the Poznan, if it adds to the atmosphere then why not. The difference between ours and Man City's is we sing the song with it? Maybe clutching at straws here but - I believe the Poznan was the turning point to having an atmosphere, as this was shortly followed by We Love You, and the Ben Marshall chant was it not? That'd be the day. I think We Love You and the Ben Marshall chant are both appalling but they're far better than sitting in silence, so if that is what the fans muster up, then I'm all for it.
Dan Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 I agree with the OP, it's run its cause and whilst at first you thought 'wow', it's almost become one of the standard Soccer AM'y type borefests which is done by all the small-time clubs, it's just pure tinpot now and it's time to move on.
Vlad the Fox Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Carnt remember what song kasabian sang but everyone wanted to sing it last year but it never kicked off!? Anyway that would be better in my eyes!? LSF. It would sound great. If we keep talking about it, it will happen.
ian_marshall Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 LSF. It would sound great. If we keep talking about it, it will happen. Yes, the ending where everyone hums the chorus and claps creates an amazing atmosphere at their concerts. It goes on for a good 5 minutes, starts off really slow and gradually builds in tempo. Would go down a treat at the KP but would be hard to get going as most people wouldn't understand what was going off unless assisted by music which would make it crap and pointless.
1964FOX Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 How freaky would it be when/if we score nobody made a sound Too late, Arsenal already do that.
Number 6 Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Only way it could be saved is if you had the whole ground (barring away fans) doing it. Will never happen though. Spontaneity rules here I think, same with player celebrations.
Petchy Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 What nonsense. People will do what they want to do, in any form, to support their club. Just because you don't necessarily like the Poznan doesn't mean it's going to end! It will naturally fade out, whenever that time is.

I think that is what the OP point is, with it being a new season and a new start maybe now is the time
markbsac Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 and certainly no scarf twirling people will complain that the scarf tassles brush there bobble hats... :-)
bmt Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 I honestly can't understand why we never did the poznan facing forwards. That would have been unique and you wouldn't miss the match. I now agree, however, that it's ran its course.
AlphaMaleFox Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Can we PLEASE make this 'last seasons' thing? Does everyone love it THAT much? Surely mostly everyone must be bored of it by now right?? Plus it makes us look like c***s. AnotherShitThreadAboutThePoznan
Petchy Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 I think that is what the OP point is, with it being a new season and a new start maybe now is the time It can't just be stopped for the sole reason of it being a new season though, what I mean is that it will naturally fade out when it gets boring / tiresome rather than people going 'we have to stop now just because it's a new year'.
1964FOX Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 For those who didn't go the whole of L1 and a lot of the family stand did it today so looks like it's still in fashion.
bluesbrothers Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Guilty. Also, take back what i said about the Family Stand being a library. I'm glad me and the old man switched our season tickets. It's still not great, but the sound in the Kop is actually shit by comparison. UTF
