Dr The Singh Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 Konchesky was beat but be fair to Blackburn, they flooded the box, which then allowed Gomez to drift at the edge of the area unnoticed an strike. We've been playing well but we havent really committed men forward being the away side. I can't see us getting back from this.
Babylon Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 Where did I blame the midfield? If we had an extra man in midfield for the defence to play it into they wouldn't have to play speculative balls, that's got nothing to do with how Drinkwater and King are playing. You are blaming the lack of another midfielder, hence blaming the midfield, there has been no problem with the midfield.
Legend_in_blue Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 Konch gives it away but the question is this... "Who picked up the man in the middle of midfield?" Wouldn't happen with a midfield 5.
Guest ttfn Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 PLEASE LEICESTER STOP DOING THIS TO MEEEEEEEEEEEE just score when we get a good chance then it doesn't matter so much if we concede!!!! King and Nugent could take a lesson from blackburns chance to goal ratio! King who had 2 goals from 80 mins before today? That King?
Bryn Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 You are blaming the lack of another midfielder, hence blaming the midfield, there has been no problem with the midfield. Stop being a tool, in a 4-4-2 a high percentage of the time the full backs will look down the line to the wingers rather than into midfield because the opposition are matching up to them (the centre mids that is), with an extra man you outnumber them and there's always a free option in midfield, why is this complicated? King and Drinkwater are playing very well, it's not them giving the ball away it's the fullbacks.
Babylon Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 First half v Peterborough, first half v Charlton and now this, ok maybe it's only 3 games, maybe it is a knee jerk reaction but judging from it, it's going to be a long season.... What? We've been clearly the better team for all but 3 seconds, how does that compare to Boro or Charlton?
Kitchandro Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 Konch gives it away but the question is this... "Who picked up the man in the middle of midfield?" Wouldn't happen with a midfield 5. And if we had a defensive 3 we might not have picked out one of the other players.
Haydos Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 King who had 2 goals from 80 mins before today? That King? Exactly. The same King who scored an almost identical goal last week.
Kitchandro Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 What? We've been clearly the better team for all but 3 seconds, how does that compare to Boro or Charlton? I don't know about Peterborough but from the sounds of it we were dominating until Charlton scored and for the whole of the second half
Babylon Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 And if we had a defensive 3 we might not have picked out one of the other players. And if we had 8 central defenders we might have blocked the shot.
Kitchandro Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 Stringer thinks it's been a good game, SSN saying it's been shit.
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 What? We've been clearly the better team for all but 3 seconds, how does that compare to Boro or Charlton? True mate, we've been dominant, but the point that we always don't take our chances is beginning to get costly
Callabinho Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 it's alright saying we are playing well, but we can't put the ball in the net! we are not clinical enough up front, and if we are supposedly to be second favourites for promotion we have to win or at least take a point from these games.
foxesfan1989 Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 Come on boys! Playing well enough to win this one! Lets get one before HT
Matt Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 What? We've been clearly the better team for all but 3 seconds, how does that compare to Boro or Charlton? First half against boro was poor, and everyone I've spoke to agrees, we were never in any danger of going down a goal or losing in the first half but it was poor. *Barr the first 10 minutes, as usual.
Haydos Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 When did Konchesky lose the ability to pass or to resist a pass that's clearly not on. Decision making still hasn't improved in the last 10.
Babylon Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 True mate, we've been dominant, but the point that we always don't take our chances is beginning to get costly But the chances are there, I'd be far more concerned if Blackburn had been on top and we hadn't had a sniff. It's a lot more difficult to fix that problem that it is to sort out bossing a game, creating huge chances but missing them. First half against boro was poor, and everyone I've spoke to agrees, we were never in any danger of going down a goal or losing in the first half but it was poor. Right, so how does that match up to this game considering we are clearly the better team?
Mack Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 This is starting to all look very familiar to last season.
iamafox Posted 25 August 2012 Posted 25 August 2012 Still haven't scored a league goal in the 1st half this season. That is worrying.
