Guest MattP Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Malinga's action is bloody awful. Comes from playing on beach with a tennis ball, only way he could get some bounce. Big toss to win that, getting Gayle early on will be crucial here, Steven Finn needs to step up.
purpleronnie Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Hope we dont bowl short if we do we'll be humiliated.
Guest MattP Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Finn might get away with it, can't think too many others will. Opening up with some spin wouldn't be the greatest surprise given that's how we usually get Gayle.
Corky Posted 27 September 2012 Author Posted 27 September 2012 I'm surprised we aren't playing Briggs, unless they feel spin won't play too big a part and we can cope with just Patel.

Wycombe Fox Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 I'm surprised we aren't playing Briggs, unless they feel spin won't play too big a part and we can cope with just Patel. Me too - a local Isle of Wight lad
Wycombe Fox Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 In the onion bag for Finn...oh...wait Edit: Nice case of lulling him into a false sense of security
Guest MattP Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Going to be a tough chase this. Does look a decent surface still though. Really had some rough luck here, never seen so many sliced boundaries in one innings.
purpleronnie Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 I always prefer when we arent chasing runs.....can't see us winning but one never knows.
Wycombe Fox Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 We'll probably either win or be all out for less than 100. As I've got a seat on Foxhateram's Optimistic Bus, I'm going for the win.
Uncle Phil Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 2 wickets down after 3 balls. Disastrous.
Guest MattP Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Great start, patient play again from Kieswetter.
Corky Posted 27 September 2012 Author Posted 27 September 2012 Kieswetter has to go soon, wastes so many balls then makes a ridiculous shot. Get Prior in,
Guest MattP Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Kieswetter has to go soon, wastes so many balls then makes a ridiculous shot. Get Prior in, No one has still explained why he doesn't play, he should get in on his batting alone, let alone his glovework.
Corky Posted 27 September 2012 Author Posted 27 September 2012 Exactly, better batsman and better keeper. What logic is there for keeping Kieswetter?
Guest MattP Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Exactly, better batsman and better keeper. What logic is there for keeping Kieswetter? Nothing, it's bizarre and a question Bob Willis has asked twenty times.
Swarles Barkley Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 I think prior just cannot do it for england at international level. He has been given numerous chances and has done nothing. Kieswetter has been ok, not outstanding.

Kieswetter has been ok, not outstanding. Difference is Prior is twice the player now he was when he was playing in limited overs matches for England.
