chili_con_carne Posted 18 September 2012 Posted 18 September 2012 From waccoe! How warnock made him captain I do not know! The scouts at Leeds must be shocking. 'Peltier 4 - Not a Captain's performance. Doesn't track runners, leaves gaps. Pissed me off when he had shot at the end instead of putting it in the box.' 'Peltier 9 - What a leader, and inspiration to all us Leeds fans' 'Peltier - 4 - Tracking and marking should be something he can do. Blatantly can't.' 'Peltier SHIT'
ADK Posted 18 September 2012 Posted 18 September 2012 I'm surprised hes playing centreback surely hes too short to play centreback in a league where hoofball is dominant? I like Peltier although i think lower end championship/high end league 1 is his level and i'm much more happy with RDL. I said before that i don't think Leeds are that strong this year and are my outside guess for failing miserably.
marty78 Posted 18 September 2012 Posted 18 September 2012 Not in the least bit surprising. Indeed, I am always reluctant to slate ex-players unless they have acted like cvnts though (Yes Wise I'm looking at you). Plus I would rather Hull had lost so they weren't going into the weekend full of confidence.
broughtonblue Posted 18 September 2012 Posted 18 September 2012 leicester city topic! this should be in general
chili_con_carne Posted 18 September 2012 Author Posted 18 September 2012 I believe they play him at right back now.
foxesfan1989 Posted 18 September 2012 Posted 18 September 2012 Peltier wasn't that bad for us. Not like we have been a rock at the back since he left. I would have kept him.
kingfox Posted 18 September 2012 Posted 18 September 2012 Glad he's off our books then like Matt Mills, both disliked by their new clubs so far.
accessory Posted 18 September 2012 Posted 18 September 2012 Because De Laet and Whitbread have been such outstanding replacements..
ADK Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Because De Laet and Whitbread have been such outstanding replacements.. De Laet has been better than Peltier so yes. Whitbread isn't a replacement for Mills, Westley Morgan was and frankly i think hes been our player of the season so far and is a much better captain. Arguably Whitbread is a replacement for Tunchev as experienced defensive cover and we cannot judge whether that was a good decision yet.
Guest MattP Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Because De Laet and Whitbread have been such outstanding replacements.. De Laet shits all over Peltier, one bad game Sunday doesn't change that. No idea why you brought Whitbread into it unless you are prepared to judge a player on one game.
21st Century Fox Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 De Laet actually has an end product when going forward. His crossing on Sunday was pretty good. Peltier on the other hand rarely produced anything other than a misplaced pass. I remember going to the Millwall game away last season and almost pulling my hair out at the amount of times he got caught out of position or roamed forward only to loose the ball. De Laet certainly needs to work on his concentration but so far he's been much better than Peltier.

Dan Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 I'm also on De Laet's side but in fairness, he's actually made as many little defensive mistakes as anyone. There's definitely the signs he can be a cracking full-back but he's made plenty of cock ups IMO. Turned at Blackburn, turned at Burton, completely lost by the man he was meant to be marking at Wolves. It's a shame because he looks a real class act going forward and he's got a great delivery on him. Brush up on the defensive side and he'll be a top player for us.
Manc Fox Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 A mate of mine is a Leeds fan & he said that Colin said that Peltier was "a rolls-royce defender" ha ha!!
Thracian Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Apart from the odd occasion he was shit. His attacking input was no more than once in a while he was a real liability on the back post sometimes and he left such gaps. I honestly wonder how some football people scout players and why they simply fail to spot talent at the one time or ineptitude at another. Do managers even see some of the players they sign these days? Because it doesn't seem like it a lot of the time. Peltier wasn't that bad for us. Not like we have been a rock at the back since he left. I would have kept him.
J.Lisemore Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Bewilders me how hes actually captain of Leeds, doesn't come across as a bloke who is gonna gather up the lads for a speech.
Father Ted Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Like I said last season, Peltier was the weakest link in our back line, so glad that he's gone, complete dog turd.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Not sure why people are taking so much pleasure from this. He wasn't a great signing, nor was he one of our worst. He wasn't lazy, he did well for effort and came across as a fairly decent bloke in interviews. He let us down towards the end of last season, but the bloke's hardly Akinbiyi.

I really liked the guy and funnily enough, yet completely unsurprisingly, so did most people on here. We're such fickle pricks sometimes.

Think it's more to do with the Leeds fans thinking this was the coup of the century. I know I have no bad feelings toward him, I doubt many others do either.

I have no issue with him personally, I suppose people are pleased that he's not doing so well as we have a group that rate him higher now he's gone than they did when he played for us, and making out that Pearson made a huge mistake letting him go.
