Any 1 else got any idea's I know VERY VERY early but what the hell

Dan Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 At the minute I think little is needed, arguably another full-back as cover though because Moore seems to be used at centre half more than right back and Schlupp, whilst he's impressed me at left back, isn't 100% convincing yet considering his age and the fact his natural position couldn't be more different to that. The midfield is the best it's been since the Premier IMO. I honestly can't remember us having a stronger one since then. The attack is about fine but if we were still playing Marshall on the right then I'd arguably get another big man in to get on the end of crosses, Futacs seems very much a plan B.

And this would be a different option to King, drinkwater and Wellens?

Point taken but at pressent he is the only person we where linked with in pre-season who looks like he could be very good at this level even as back up because all we have on the wing is Dyer who can run but not much else ( hope he proves me wrong).any idea for the def mid as i can not say i can think of any 1 ( idea Papa Diop )but no body else
StanSP Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Mate, a midfielder is not one of our priorities at the moment. King, Drinkwater, James, Wellens, Marshall, Knockaert, Dyer, Danns. That's 5 central midfielders and 3 wingers. 8 in total. Adding another midfielder, who is most likely not up to the standard of some of those players, would not be for the benefit of the squad. Silly season was in the summer, okay?

I can't argue with any 1 saying we have to many Midfielders. I can say 2 things 1 is at present we look good going forward and look like we are gelling more and more 2 i hope it does not happen but if Marshell or Knockaert get injured we have Dyer to come in as a start and no other game changer ( winger ) on the Bench if needed This is the only area in my eyes that COULD have a problem in the worst case as every other we have more then enough.

That means we need a back up goalie, by that logic. If Schmeichel gets injured, we have Logan. Then what?
