21st Century Fox Posted 17 April 2013 Posted 17 April 2013 Think a Canadian radio station has played it early. Was meant to premiere in full on Friday. Yeah a Dutch radio station have done the same as well. I like it, Niles Rodgers is really good and I like the way it segues into a more traditional Daft Punk vocoder sound.
Fox_in_spain Posted 17 April 2013 Posted 17 April 2013 Fall Out Boy released their new album - Save Rock and Roll. Brilliant. Brilliant. Their eponymous track, "Save Rock and Roll" [Feat Elton John] and "The Phoenix" are pure class.
21st Century Fox Posted 17 April 2013 Posted 17 April 2013 The new Phoenix album Bankrupt is streaming on iTunes. It sounds good.

anotherharboroughfox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Daft Punk have released the Get Lucky single today! Oh my word, it's brilliant!
hairy Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 This month I have mostly been listening to Gnod (this was repressed earlier this year)
MC Prussian Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Check out the new Thermals album, Desperate Ground. I love the reduced rock sound they produce.
StanSP Posted 19 April 2013 Author Posted 19 April 2013 Video for 30 Seconds To Mars' Up In The Air video.
MC Prussian Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 I'm a little disappointed in Young Galaxy's newest effort. "Ultramarine" sounds too generic and poorly produced to me. I miss more heart behind the new album, it feels tacky and soulless. Bring back the Young Galaxy when they were playing real instruments.
MC Prussian Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I'm not overly convinced by Liam Finn's first (demo) single from his new upcoming album "Murmuration": http://liamfinn.bandcamp.com/track/i-demo?mc_cid=c7dc4b7013&mc_eid=5aeb2ed3fa Granted it's just a demo, but I do hope he works some more on it and the rest, as well.
MC Prussian Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 But then there's a band that just manages to get better with each record. I give you the Bicycles' "Stop Thinking So Much": Lovely, lovely pop.
The Doctor Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 New Sabbath album coming! I like the sound of the new track, bar that bloody woman talking in it occasionally, http://www.metalsucks.net/2013/04/18/listen-to-god-is-dead-black-sabbaths-first-new-song-in-thirty-five-years/
Haydos Posted 23 April 2013 Posted 23 April 2013 Paramore's album has got a lot of plays since getting it on Saturday. I wasn't too enthusiastic after giving a few songs a few listens. I'll need to give it another go as I've loved every effort so far. You into/listened to Fall Out Boy's new album yet? Edit: Just instantly saw that you replied to that somewhere in here.

Their eponymous track, "Save Rock and Roll" [Feat Elton John] and "The Phoenix" are pure class. I fvcking love some of the tracks. Others not so much. The Phoenix is an absolute belter, that's getting rinsed to death. My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark is also pretty decent Absolutely loving Young Volcanoes and Alone Together Rat A Tat is growing and I think it'll be one of my favourites soon. Save Rock and Roll is top like you say. No stand out from the rest in the middle of the album yet for me.
StanSP Posted 23 April 2013 Author Posted 23 April 2013 Hmm, sounds like I might have to give it another try. Maybe I was too dismissive of it. I did like The Phoenix, though.

The middle is a bit average (I do like the one with Foxes though, who I think will be very big in the future), but the start and end of the album I love.

martyn Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 Looks like there is going to be a new Boards of Canada album after 8 years. Cannot wait. They seem to be releasing 6, 6 digit numerical codes as "clues", although not sure what these clues will actually show. Maybe a release date or geographic co-ordinates to another clue, who knows.... : Can follow the story of the codes here: http://2020k.wordpress.com/2013/04/20/boards-of-canada-distribute-new-vinyl-releases-out-for-national-records-day/ Whilst this may seem like pretentious wank, all you need to worry about is the fact that Boards of Canada are ****ing brilliant.

martyn Posted 30 April 2013 Posted 30 April 2013 Hope the album lives up to the hype!! And not as bland as Twoism Do you mean Twoism? The Campfire Headphase was their last release, which admittedly was a slight change of direction. Still think it's a good album though... Pre-ordered the vinyl..

martyn Posted 30 April 2013 Posted 30 April 2013 Fair enough, was just a little confused by the Twoism reference given that it is an EP from nearly 20 years ago and they have released plenty of great stuff since then.
