Alexikokopops Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 I've missed you Raj! How's the little 'un?
Guest MattP Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 How exactly is he over rated? Are you a student of the Brazilian game? Do you watch him regularly enough to spot a flaw that the rest of us have missed? I'm interested to know. He's certainly over rated at the minute and goes missing in a lot if games, the way Corinthians handles him in the Copa final was not the hallmark of a World Class player. As said above, his passing is atrocious.
FoxyPV Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 Doesn't seem like a Barcarole type player to me. He appears too individualistic. Only time will tell though.
Ozwin Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 To call him overrated is ridiculous. The things he can do with a football at the age of what, 19/20 is insane. Just think in 5 years when he bulks up a bit and uses his skills and creativity more efficiently, it's a scary prospect.
Raj Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 I've missed you Raj! How's the little 'un? Watcha Al me old mucka! All is well,Little Roma is now 4 believe it or not!!! AND we are excpecting No.2 in April!!! Anyway back to the Brazilian with the hair who is no better than Bale.....
sdb Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 From what i've seen (only really highlights, granted), he looks near world-class already. Reminds me of Ronaldo (1 & 2) with his touch, strength and pace. He'll obviously end up at Barca and will be bloody amazing I bet.

Being able to do tricks with a football is not enough if your all round games not there, and he does have serious holes in his game.

There is no doubt the kid has some serious talent, but the Brazilian league and the teams in it are hardly a huge challenge. For a start, Brazilian defenses tend to sit further back than most European. This allows him at the minute to get up a head of steam and a good run at them. Once hes doing that, hes ruddy tough to stop and any touch will send him tumbling. It will be good to see how he deals with tighter, wiser, stronger opposition defences. Its going to be an exciting battle. As I said, the guys got flair and ability, but Im reserving serious judgment until he can do it against considerably better opposition, and consistantly too. For anyone to call him world class already is ridiculous. The point about Bale being worth more if he was from a more 'glamorous' nation like Brazil or Spain, is probably true too

At the same time, Ronaldo went to United as a skinny manchild who could do a few stepovers and matured into the world's greatest player. His technique at this moment is better than most. With the right attitude and the right training, he could easily equal Messi and Ronaldo or he could, as you suggest, end up a Denilson or a Quinton Fortune.

Bale would be worth £50M if he were Spanish/Brazilian but probabl double that if he were English.

Definitely has the potential and it is the right time for him to move, can't think of many better places to improve than Barcelona, he could very well go on to surpass Ronaldo, but may England would have been a better place to toughen up, Ronaldo, bulked up and got a lot stronger because he had to in England.

Messi should do the same.....with leicester
Captain... Posted 3 November 2012 Posted 3 November 2012 Messi should do the same.....with leicester It's ok, he sent his French cousin.
Haydos Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 My opinion, thats all. Neymar will be known as the one with the silly hair who thought he was the next Gareth Bale Give it a rest!
Danizen Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 It's ok, he sent his French cousin. Yeah but he's fooked off to Charlton, already.
Haydos Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 He's 20 for christ sake. He's twice the player Bale is and he's 3 years older. Nobody's claiming he's anything like the best player in the world but he has serious, serious potential if he develops in the same way Ronaldo and Messi have done.
purpleronnie Posted 16 November 2012 Posted 16 November 2012 Looks like the English have been teaching him a few things. http://www.guardian....ame.video.other
