John Lewis ad - rejected

I assume most people by now have seen the John Lewis ad, well there were a few variations of this ad but all the others were rejected in favour of the one you have seen, anyway, one of the rejected ones has found its way on youtube, personally I prefer this one, but I will let you decide:

Apologies for having lied to you this was made by someone and posted on another site, it was not a rejected version, those that didn't have the patience to watch to the end really should, because otherwise you miss the joke, but I thought I would try keep the "surprise" a surprise it's funnier that way.
